UPDATED: OCT 25, 2004 Interesting color: a brownish, amber red. Cherry nose and cherry taste - candy and juice-like. Slightly dry finish. Very light and refreshing. Much sweeter than Cantillion Kriek (see my review) for example. A good offering, but I missed a certain sourness. Too sweet.

Rating is for the 2000 vintage. Dark pink/red colour with almost no head. Nice tart cherry aroma. A tangy, tart fruity, flavour to match. Quite good.

a little darker than the other cherry lambics i’ve had, but the aroma was awesome. i would have liked it more had it been a tiny bit more tart

Disappointing. Darker than expected, a purplish-brown. Some cherry in the aroma, but not particularly pungent or strong. Flavor is of weak cherries with no real crispness or bite. Lacks the expected sourness to balance the cherry. OK, but not one of the better lambics out there.

Bottled. Seems pretty dark for a Kriek; more brown/dark purple than red. Nose excellent, dark and sour-cherry with just enough sweetness. On the tongue, good sweet/sour cherryness, but rather flat; I’m not the biggest carbonation fan, even in lambics, but this is really still. Finishes on the dull side, also, and as user_ex notes, somewhat metallic. Worth trying certainly, but for the same price/accessibility go with Lindemans.

Not as good as Lindemans Kriek.

UPDATED: FEB 27, 2004 Untwisting the cap of the wire cage sent the cork screaming by my head and into the celling, and beer got all over my mail. Sadly this won't be the last time this happens to me. Red color with a large, large-bubbled pink head. Sweet cherry aroma with some mustiness. Fizzy mouth feel that is just too much. Good cherry taste in the ending that is killed by the carbonation.

ruby colour, fine head, cherry and caramel aroma, very sweet, lack of complexity, aftertaste is brief and dry - pleasant but lacks of complexity.
