pours deep cherry red from bottle with an inch of foam. Thicker mouthfeel then I was expecting. Nice cherry notes on the nose without being cloying. You could say the same thing about the taste. It wasnt as bold and out there as I hoped but as my old uncle Fester said "boon lambic is better then no lambic at all."

On tap at Local Option. Aroma: Cherry pie, marasquino cherries and light spiciness (cinnamon). Absolutely no funk. Appearance: Red-brown pour, small white-red foam. Flavors: Mostly cherries, syrup, light tartness but definitly on the sweet side. Palate: Medium bodied, light carbonation and sticky. Overall: Not a good kriek but a decent sweet fruit beer nonetheless.

2006 bottle. Pours a deep ruby red. Brilliant as can be. Pretty sizable pink head that leave a little bit of lacing behind, as it slowly recedes. Fruity and sour aroma. Earthy and somewhat of a woody aroma. Very dry, a little sweetness. Tart, but not overly so. A earthy, fruity taste of cherries and wood. Pretty good.

8oz pour @ Fountainhead. Very red. Aroma of cherries, vinegar, and chlorine. The chlorine aspect of the aroma was somewhat off putting. The flavor is of very fresh juicy cherries with a slight vinegar.

Smell of tart cherries and some red wine vinegar in the nose. Not too much though. Deep, dark red hue with quickly disappearing head. Tart cherry flavor with some bitter and sour vinegar...not much though. Pretty good but not the best.

Sample @ Gastropub Tuulensuu Kriek tasting. Originally rated on 30.10.2010. Slightly sweet and unbalanced kriek.

A very unique and tempting sour cherry aroma, almost suggestive of a kool-aid with a very little red wine vinegar funk in the background. Attractive although fizzy pink head on an absolutely crimson beer which was surprisingly crystal clear. Tastes like a sour cherry candy . Refreshingly tart. Although the fruit decidedly dominates so not much to say about malt or hops. The only yeast character I appreciate is the acetic notes. Less carbonated than I had anticipated. Body seems intentionally restrained to allow the drinker to have more than one. I’d enjoy this again, especially sitting on the back porch on a warm summer day.

Color was very nice dark raspberries red. Familiar but very fruity lambic smells. Taste was sweet with sweet lambic taste, a taste of bitterness.
