3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hmmm... I think somebody put cough syrup in my glass. Pretty much sums it up: red, cherry, a texture like molasses. Iím going to grease up my bike chain with this one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A nice, tart cherry essence thatís almost as good as the liefmanís. Pleasant and crisp. Sort of a band-aid flavor.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
2000 VERSION: Remember Cherry-Clan candies? Intense cherry flavor (somewhat artificial tasting) followed by an even more intense sourness. No complexity to speak of. Ranks just above the Belle-Vue Kriek, but lags behind most others.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Looks good--deep red, pink head; Smells good--nice cherry thing with a hint of vinegary sourness. Taste is just out of wack though. Thereís no balance between the sweet cherry flavors and the fairly intense sourness.

3.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: FEB 24, 2003 Rerate. Rose foam. No sweet aroma in contrast of many other kriek-beers, but a really cherry-aroma. The flavour is also a pure-cherry-taste.
Rate 1: Red like blood, very strong and intense fruity and sweet aroma. Although the flavour is less intense than the aroma.

A cherry red beer with a beutiful head. It tastes strongly of cherry which it also tastes of together with an OK bitternes and a very little sweetnes. Itís much less dry and bitter than other krieks Iíve tried (but not rated). A very well tasting easily drinable kriek.

i wonder if david boon could drink 58 of these on an australia-uk flight. smells a little like i imagine he does after a long day at short leg. powerful sweaty cheesy and stinky. as with the gueuze, its not that sour, but still really dry. not very cherryish - heaps of wood and pencil shavings with dogshit stirred in. quite tame if you dont smell it.

Very cherry, mostly sweet but with some sourness. Simple but pleasant.

Comparing this with Lindemanís Kriek, itís not quite as sweet and cherry aroma doesnít knock you over the head. Flavor is very sour (more sour than tart) and cherries are ever present but subdued. It just seems a bit lacking...
