Countbeer (1686) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JUN 19, 2011
Bottle: 2010: Medium vast light pink head on top of a deep dark pink to bordeaux red colored beer. Smell yeast, dough, malts and cherries. Taste is mostly sweet with some hints of sour, red fruit, yeast, bacteria, something lighy creamy and a very light hint of wood. Sweet (some red fruits) light sour and very light bitter (bit malty) aftertaste. Low to medium carbo, medium body, tingling mouthfeel and a light watery texture.

Draught. Pours translucent dark red with a large, pink head. Aroma is cherries, somewhat sweet. Taste is much of the same, though not as sweet. There’s a bit of tartness in the flavor and bit of acid in the finish. Palate is alright, a bit watery.

Bottle from De Paas. Clear red pour with pink head. Tart aroma of cherries. Flavor dominated by cherries and a bit too sweet. More sour would be better. (Rated 2011/06/04)

300ml poured from tap at the brewey, shared with Finn. Clear, dark red. Pink coloured layer at the top. Smell of cherries and almond. Sweet cherries and fruits in flavour, added by an oaky touch. Acid-sweet aftertaste, still very much on the sweet side (Toer de Geuze, Lembeek 01.05.2011).
