Kriek Boon is a traditional Belgian Lambic fruit-beer. It is brewed according to the traditional Lambic style of spontaneous fermentation. Only fresh cherries (25%) are used. Kriek Boon is slightly sweet, with the surprising natural fragrance of sourcherries and almonds. With only 4% of alcohol it is a perfect summer beer.

Bottle. Almost clear deep pink/purple liquid with small to medium pink head. Aroma of cherries, cream/lacto/yoghurt, red berries, very light barnyard and sugar. Taste is light sweet and almost not sour at all with notes of cherries and sugar. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Too sweet...

For me its a waste of Lambric. Its very smooth and retains some character, but its ultimately boring and comes too close to just being a fruit beer.

37.5cl bottle at home (9 X 2015), shared with friends. This is an archetype. A burgundy to dark red, clear beer with a pink, even purple foam. The looks are somehow artificial, but welcoming for sure. The nose has keen hints of red fruits and sour cherries, vanilla and wood. The mouthfeel is almost creme-like, with a tintling carbonation which makes me think of soda water. The cherries are very present ofcourse, adding lots of freshness to the sweet-sour beer. The vanilla and creme features make it however a dash too sweet, making the palate a that sticky too. The ’foeder’ notes are subtle and levels the artificial tone of this lambic style sweetness.

Look; pink top, cherry-red clear body. Aroma; cherries, marzipan, molasses. Taste; cherries, lemongrass, fruit yeast - leading to a full sour-sweet cherry finish. Juicy slightly sticky on palate. Overall a solid fruit experience. [37.5cl green corked bottle 4%abv, BB.06.05.2019 #53001, B@Eurospar Tomasjord - Tromsø’s Pivoteka 1]

Bottle from Beer52. Pours a deep red with minimal head, strong aromas of sour cherries and almond. Tastes of tart fruit almost black forest gateaux lol Crisp and fruity, not one I’ll be buying again but certainly not terrible

25cl bottle from Beer52.com - 2014 vintage. An attractive cherry red colour with a tight pink head; fresh ripe cherry aroma; pleasant taste with very tart fruit and an underlying sweetness; and a clean finish with lingering almonds. A satisfying full fruity beer.

25cl bottle from Beer52. Pours a stunning deep red colour with transient pinkish head. Aroma is sickly sour, but the taste is perfectly balanced between the lambic sour and sweet cherry. Everything a kriek should be.

375ml bottle. Can’t believe I haven’t rated this before. Pours a dark cherry red with thin pink head. Aroma is cherries, more berry fruits, hay and yeast. Lovely smooth texture. Fine carbonation. Slightly tart cherries, yeast and more berries. May be a little sweet for some but I love it.

BOTTLE 25 CL. Clear ruby-pink, pink head. The aroma is mostly cherry syrup, rotten cherries, almost nothing lambic. The taste is similar, sweet and slightly rotten, mild acidity - more cherry and fruity than sour beer. The body slightly sticky. A hint of piquant bitterness in the finish is the only thing that reminds of a lambic. Sweeet.

2006 bottle shared on a bus. Really fun experience. Held up nice. Slight oxidation didn’t take away from the dark cherries and slight funk. Minor tartness with a touch sweetness.
