Hands down my favorite of all the fruit lambics I’ve tried. Smells a bit fruity, as it should, but it’s not overly sweet or tart. Super drinkable and well-made!

Bottle. Dark hazy pink colour with a small pink head. The aroma has ripe cherry. Flavour is sweet initially, rounding out nicely, lots of ripe cherry. Very juicy! More sourness would be nice. Bloody good though.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. A very dark ruby red beer that pours with a thin pink head. It has a rich, sweet cherry flavour, biscuit and cheesecake notes with a slightly thin tart cherry fruity finish.

On tap at Beer Deluxe. Pours red with a medium rose head. Typical kriek smell, but rather low key. Too much cherry in the taste, would need more carbonization or more sourness. Both are there but too faint. I definitely prefer the Oude Kriek and the Marriage Parfait.

Very good Krieke. Nice sour notes with sweet cherries. No after taste, smooth with a little head and nice red pour. Tart enough to hide sweetness.

Vermelho rubi intenso, boa formação de espuma, brilhante. Aromas de morango, framboesa, levemente balsâmico. Na boca há acidez bem leve, adocicado de frutas vermelhas. Corpo baixo, boa carbonatação. Aftertaste adocicado, refrescante.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle to glass. Pours a beautiful deep rose color with a nice pinkish white head. Aroma is dry, slightly tart, nice cherry sweetness. A decent tart in the flavor, but not overly sour, more on the sweeter end. Lingering sweet cherries in the finish. Tasty fruit beer for sure. Wouldn’t mind a bit more sour though.

Boon’s sweetened kriek, in collaboration with Palm, not to be confused with Boon Oude Kriek. Hazy red colour, off-white, thick head; aroma and taste combine the tartness of lambic and sour cherries with honeyish sweetness from added sugar. Still shows a certain amount of authenticity: I’d say this is a perfect stepping stone from the ’industrial’ sweet krieks in the style of Timmermans or Belle-Vue to true ’oude kriek’. Very decent in this particular segment, but I prefer actual ’oude kriek’.
