COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kriek Boon is a traditional Belgian Lambic fruit-beer. It is brewed according to the traditional Lambic style of spontaneous fermentation. Only fresh cherries (25%) are used. Kriek Boon is slightly sweet, with the surprising natural fragrance of sourcherries and almonds. With only 4% of alcohol it is a perfect summer beer.

75cL bottle pours a murky pinkish brown with a medium pale purple head. Aroma of sweet cherries and backing malt. Taste of ripe not overly sweet cherries, a touch creamy on the finish. Simple and straight forward, nice on this hot day.

375 ml bottle from Appellation wines. Poos clear ruby red, thick pink head, high carbonation keeps it there. Aromas of cherry and almonds - is that klafouti? There’s some dessert this reminds me of. Sweet, and a bit thin at the end. Not bad in the sunshine though.

Kort. Lite kullsyre

The perfect summer beer. Quite sour but fresh and with a nice sweetness from the cherries. The taste of cherries is very significant in this beer - both in taste and aroma. Very decent fruit lambic

Aroma of ripe tart cherries. Flavour is cherry sweetness, a little tartness, but I would have liked a far more pronounced tartness.

A nice lambic. Pours blood red in color with pink head. Aromas are canned bing cherries and c cherry kool aid. Flavors are tart cherry, maraschino cherry and some oaky bitterness to round it out. A touch watery.. But still quite tasty.

Bottle from Harvest Market Pours a deep reddish purple color with a small bubbly pink tinged head that dissipates slowly. Aromas of sweet and tart cherries dominate the aroma. Hints of tart lemon, balsamic, brown sugar, and earth round out the nose. The flavor is quite a bit sweeter than I was anticipating. Dark sugary sweet with plenty of tart and sweet cherry flavor but seriously lacking in much lactic tartness to offset the sweetness. Hints of almond flavor and a bit of earthiness round out the flavor. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Super easy to drink, more tart than a Lindemans but less than I was expecting.

2012 vintage from Bottle Shop, Brugge. Deep ruby colour, slightly pink head. Aroma is very pungent, strong cherry smell. Taste is nice and balanced. Not too sweet, not overly sour and easy to enjoy. Enjoyable stuff and probably my favourite Kriek.
