Kriek Boon is a traditional Belgian Lambic fruit-beer. It is brewed according to the traditional Lambic style of spontaneous fermentation. Only fresh cherries (25%) are used. Kriek Boon is slightly sweet, with the surprising natural fragrance of sourcherries and almonds. With only 4% of alcohol it is a perfect summer beer.

Nice cherry fruit kriek beer. It’s a bit straight forward with the cherry without too much going on. Thought it felt slightly watery too. But the flavors are well balanced and tasty.

37,5cl 2012 Vintage, bb10/2015 and earlier bottles. Little survives of the original robust barley-and-old-hop rustic funk origins of Boon lambiek in this kriekenlambiek inspired and marked by the softdrink-like sweetening of beers in Belgium since the ’80. What remains is a helplessly thin foundation of wheat-tart lambiek underneath a barrage of aspartame-sweet cherry syrup, monodimensional and only cloying when chilled like cherry coke. A strange return to dry form in the dry aftertaste to wipe away the Haribo Cherry Coke bottles.

Bottle. Pours clear red with small pinky head. Aroma and taste is Sweet Cherrys, some fruit. Fizzy carbonation, heavy sweet from the berries.

Bright dark red colored beer with a pink small head, medium carbonation. Tastes like cherry, sweet, oak, vanilla and slightly acidic. Cherry aftertaste.

Red beer, pink head. Nose is sweet, syrupy, cherries. Flavor is sweet, some sticky notes, cherry tartness underneath, some dryness lingers. Too sweet for me.

The beer has a red color, like grenadine syrup. The beer pours a little drape of white rough foam. The smell is of cherry’s and there is a bitter aroma. The cherry flavor is not as artificial is a kriek can be. The taste is also of regular kriek. The tastes are mainly sweet and sour and there is a little dry sensation in the finish. Not beer is not that special.

2012 bottle. Looks smells and tastes like cherry soda. They shouldn’t call this a kriek

Ok done. Taste fresh cherry, not additive flavour. Not my kind of lambic, like much more gueuze.

Sample at Wild Wild Beer Fest. A bit on the sweet side. Almost like a raspberry dessert. Lots of fruit and a little more tart on the finish.
