COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kriek Boon is a traditional Belgian Lambic fruit-beer. It is brewed according to the traditional Lambic style of spontaneous fermentation. Only fresh cherries (25%) are used. Kriek Boon is slightly sweet, with the surprising natural fragrance of sourcherries and almonds. With only 4% of alcohol it is a perfect summer beer.

Kriek beers are on my list of favourites and although I prefere them kind of sweet, this one is dry and is pretty dem good. The flavor on the moth after each zip is just delighful.

Bottle at a big tasting (Nördprovning 2015). This bottle was from 2008. Fruity and sour smell with a hint of cherries. Similar taste. The cherries has faded but still nice. Lighter body then before, higher sourness.

Very pleasant, easy to drink lambic. Strong cherry flavor and sweetness. Seems like an "Americanized" version of lambic because it’s so fruit forward and the typical lambic sourness is fairly restrained.

Bottle, vintage 2013, enjoyed February 2015. Pours dark red, with a big but quickly receding creamy head. Aroma is dark, canned cherries, wooden berries and notes of wood, as well as some light tart fruity notes. Medium body, with average to soft carbonation. Flavour is tart cherries, forest berries, tannins and wood , as well as some funky lactic acid and farmyard notes. Tart berry finish. Nice and drinkable with lots of cherries for sure, but a tad hard on the berry sweetness and a bit one dimensional and on the light side when it comes to the lactic, acidic lambic sting.
