2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Marsiblursi (2675) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 4, 2006
(Draught) Pours hazy red. Sand/pink head. Acid, cherry aroma with some woody tones. Too sweet flavour for my taste with some vinegar, white sugar and cherries. Sour notes with some wood. Light to medium body.

Clear red with a medium pink head. Sweet aroma with cherries and almonds. Flavour likewise. Finished sweet. Artificial. Bastard.

Not my favorite kriek. Colour is very nice, dark with nice redness shining through. Taste isn’t really sweet and not really sour. Tastes a bit like earth/green twigs.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 esp0r (792) - NORWAY - JAN 27, 2012
Bottle from Centra Colosseum
Deep red, pink head. Smells of grain and malts, some cherries but hidden behind the grain wall. Malty body, sour hints and cherries. Some bitter finish. As a kriek it doesn’t deliver for me. Where is the cherries and the sour acids? Aroma is so not a kriek either.

que decir.... una krirk normal con su sabor a cereza suave, parece un lambrusco o una sidra de fruta, no me gusta mucho
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Ernest (5183) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 16, 2002
UPDATED: MAR 30, 2005 Head is initially average sized, frothy, pink, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy red-purple, bottle
conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted bread), trace yeast (cobwebs), with a strong note of
cherry syrup.
Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is
moderately sweet, lightly acidic. Medium body,
syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent. Way too sweet,
aroma is somewhat artificial smelling.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 robertjm (678) - El Cerrito, California, USA - MAR 26, 2009
(trade from Jaxson) Pours with pretty much zilch carbonation. No foam and cloudy body. Aroma of cherries. Sour cherry flavor. Based on other reviews I’m guessing the bottle lost its carbonation. The cork says SB05 on it if that means anything. Will have to try another bottle sometime for a rerate.

Draft at Moeder Lambic. Cloudy dark-red, quickly diminishing pink head. Cherry, oak and some raspberries flavours. Way too sweet for me. Bottle menu at Moeder was too extensive so I had this one on tap while making my selection. That will teach me to be impatient.

From a 12oz Bottle. Hazy, dark ruddy pour with a creamy layer of well sustaining pinkish head. Lots of cherry in the nose, but it has a bit of a medicinal quality to it and has an unpleasant sweetness that reminds me of an artificial sweetner. Medium bodied, creamy carbonated mouthfeel. Sweet, not sour. A little bit funky tasting, but other than that, not much that brings a lambic to mind. Lots of sweet, not so pleasant cherries. Not what I was wanting it to be.
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 DavoleBomb (1143) - Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 5, 2011
Poured into a tulip. The label has 18-01-2015 stamped on it.
3.5 A: Surprisingly clear deep amber color. Almost two fingers of frothy pink head that falls rather quickly and doe not leave much in terms of lacing.
3.5 S: Lots of cherry and in the manner of a cherry flavored lozenge. Next to that, there is vinegary, sweaty gym socks. Musky barn and musty basement. Light iron component and plenty of woodiness. Not much acidity overall.
2.5 T: As much as I hate the intestine eating acidity of Cantillon Kriek, being on the other end of the spectrum might be worse. There’s nearly no acidity in this. I’m not sure what the hell this beer spent it’s time doing in the barrel, but it’s apparent that it wasn’t getting infected. Very mild tartness from the cherries. Fairly sweet due to the backsweetening (which I am to understand comes from cherry puree), though nothing like a Lindemans. Some funk in the form of musty basement and sweaty socks, but a lot of it is overshadowed by the cherry. The most aggravating this about this beer is that all the flavor is upfront while the finish is hollow.
2.5 M: Medium body. Reasonable amounts of carbonation, though I’d prefer more. This sits heavily on the tongue without being particularly creamy.
3.0 D: I’m not a big fan of this. The acidity is minimal while at the same time not blasting my tongue with cherry (like a NG BR does). Pretty mediocre.
Disclaimer: I rate backsweetened lambics to the style of sparkling fruit juice, not actual lambics.
