RedXIII (101), Powell, Ohio, USA Jul 17, 2007 This had so much potential from the pour...A cherry orchard in my pint glass with a beautiful dark ruby color. Unfortunately the flavor is lacking. It reminded me of a mediocre cherry soda and cough syrup with a fizzy mouthfeel that was too sweet. You cannot taste the alcohol but disappointing none the less. I know there’s a brilliant lambic out there; why are all the greats retired?!
JAXSON (115), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 28, 2008 Pours a pretty cherry red with brown and alot of sediment. A nice sour presence pervades the area, followed by some vinegar toward the end of the pour. My wife drank much of the bottle, but I got enough to have formed an impression. Not bone-dry like other krieks, but with a wine-like quality, little residual sweetness. Cherry and oak up front. A striking amount of vinegar. Different. Slight medicinal component. tlind2 (309), Helsinki, Finland Oct 25, 2008 375 ml bottle. Deep cherry red color, pinkish head. Sweet-and-sour cherry aroma. Sweet fruity flavor. High carbonation. Not much of a kriek, lacking the proper sour flavor. santoslhalper (246), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 23, 2008 Nice ruby red body with a fizzy but long sustained pink head. Strong sweet cherry pie filling aroma with some acidity, berries and candy notes. Sweet and sour cherries in the mouth with a short, dry, tart sparkly finish. Clean and refreshing but full of subtle complexities. TheJollyOne (33), Kofu, Japan Oct 19, 2008 Ruby red pour with a small, fizzy, pink head. The smell is predominately cherry with some hints of citrus. Taste is of sour cherries and sugar, begins sour on the buds and then turns a nice bitter. Fantastic! Palate is a bit syrupy, with lively carbonation. Great lambic. RichJ7 (903), Cullman, Alabama, USA Oct 16, 2008 Reddish pour with a pink tinged head. Musty yeast aroma with big cherry presence. Flavor is sweet and tart, musty and sour with a pleasant bite. Not bad.
