COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kriek Boon is a traditional Belgian Lambic fruit-beer. It is brewed according to the traditional Lambic style of spontaneous fermentation. Only fresh cherries (25%) are used. Kriek Boon is slightly sweet, with the surprising natural fragrance of sourcherries and almonds. With only 4% of alcohol it is a perfect summer beer.

Bottle. The pour was a murky dark cranberry red with a very small (almost non-existent) light pink fizzy head that was fully diminishing in just a few seconds and had no lacing to speak of. The aroma was all about the cherries with a mild caramel malt and a sweet yeast and had a hint of candi-sugar and a slight sour odor. The taste was abundantly sweet and a tad acidic with a very big cherry presence throughout, with the finish having a hint of candi-sugar and a nice mellow tartness towards the end. The flavor hung on for a decent duration with the sweet-tart cherry taste fading ever so slowly. Mouthfeel was just a tiny bit beyond light in body and somewhat watery in texture with a soft mellow carbonation. Overall a nice fruity tart Lambic that was extremely drinkable, reminds me a little of a Sour Cherry Jolly Rancher...

Bottle @ home. Rosso rubino, velato, schiuma rosata, abbastanza fine, poco persistente. Aroma fruttato, fragole e ciliege, legno, brett, vaniglia e mandorle. Gusto acido, citrico, ma non pungente, dolce abboccato( fruttato) poco amara. Corpo debole, abbastanza spigolosa, astringente. Piuttosto equilibrata ed armonica.

UPDATED: APR 10, 2015 Red color with small pink head. A bit tartness, fruitiness, sweet. Taste is sweet, sugary cherries. Tartness is there, but not very present. Carbonation is ok. Absolutely drinkable among the "sugar-krieks"

375 ml bottle poured into a wine glass. It pours a deep, murky purple color with just a hint at fizz, but no head to speak of. The aroma has funky dark cherry skins, wet wood, a bit of paper. The taste is mostly fruity sweetness, but there is a touch of acidity. Medium body, a little bit chewy mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Some wine notes come through as it warms. Nice sipper. Best by date 22.06.2015.

Pours clear red with a modest light pink head that dissapears at the blink of an eye. Aroma of sweet cherries and candy. Light body, slick feel, fizzy carbonation. Taste is refreshing and sour with cherries, almost like a soda. Dry finish. Very drinkable, but would perhaps benefit from more than 4 % ABV.

Pours like a dark red lemonade complete with a mad head. The aroma is of sharp, sour cherry and citrus combined with a fair bit musty, almost dusty, notes and just the faintest hint of floral at the finish. A tart flavour in the mouth with a really creamy palate and a pleasant sour aftertaste. Not at all sweet.
