On draught at the 21st Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation. Pours a very dark ruby colour with no head. A Cabernet Sauvignon aroma with cherries, lemon, almonds and oak. Similar flavours and fairly tart with a very dry tannic finish. Mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Lovely. Really reminded me of a Cabernet Sauvignon.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Martinus (868) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - MAY 4, 2012
Dark red colour, purple red. No head. Aroma of cherry, pips, berries, almond. Quite fruity. Flavour very balanced sweet and sour, loads of cherry, quite astringent. Finish cherry, cherry pips, almond, marsipan and succade. Very lovely!
(Draught @ De Nacht van de Grote Dorst, Eizeringen. Supposedly the lambic for the Mariage Parfait. Thanks Uli for suggesting it to me!)

small wooden cask @ ZBF 2012 // base Marriage Parfait Kriek // (a) very dark Bordeaux red, tiny pink head // (s) sweet cherries, touch candy-like // (t) starts out quite sweet, oodles of sweet cherries, artificial, tad candy filling, hints of malts, fruity, hints of wood, maybe I can imagine some sourness in the body // (b) flat, touch mashed fruits, how come both the krieken & frambozenlambik are so simple & non-sour & fruity sweet (bordering on sweetened)?

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2012 29/IV/2012 - from small wooden barrel @ ZBF 2012 (Leuven) - BB: n/a (2012-450)
Note: advertised as the blended, unbottled, Kriek Marriage Parfait.
Clear deep ruby beer, small pink creamy layer, little stable. Aroma: very fruity, cherry candy ("poepkes"), little dusty (woody?) and some urine, let’s call it bretta. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, little sweet, bitter, sour tangy. Aftertaste: still fruity, cherries, bitter woody touch, green apple skin, little bit of alcohol.

Cask @ ZBF’12. Holy mother of all labmic, this is divine.

Translucent ruby, thin pink head. Nose of cherry pie, bit of soap, breadcrust. Flavor is more straightforward cherry, sugar clinging to teeth, light citrus. Very sweet, cherry pie filling finish, one-sided and not that developed.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Scopey (1659) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 3, 2011
Tap at the 20th Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation. It pours hazy deep red, with no head or carbonation. The nose is farmyard, cheese, red grape, red apple, candy floss and manure. The taste is sweet red grape, artificial cherry, hay, lime, lemon, farmyard, with a dry finish. Not tart enough for me and fairly unexciting.

Draught at an inn in Beersel. Deep blood red with a lovely, fine, pink head. Huge cherry aroma, almondy pips, yogurt. Sweet flavor with tons of cherry, yogurt/cream, nuts. Some sourness but not much of the barnyard funk. Slight citric, acidy touch. A bit too sweet and simple, but wonderful fruit.
