COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: 30 kegs of 30 liters produced for Mikkeller Bar in Copenhagen. Only available at this location (has also been available at Brasserie 4:20 in Rome).

Frank Boon writes: This is quite exeptional, 2 years old Lambic from a 112 HL shaved Calvados cask, foeder # 65, second fill. The Lambic has 7,21% Vol alcohol and has a nice oak/calvados character with a nice hint of gentian. It has a great drinkability. We will blend it in our regular Geuze by the end of the month (September 2010).

Tap@mikkeller. Orange hazy, Wheaty, light apple, tart, with pretty nice barnyeardy notes on the nose. Dry tart body, light maltyness, bit lacking in flavour actually.

Nocturne (752) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2014
Tap at Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen. Hazy golden shade with a white cap. Hint of calvados barrel in the aroma. Tastes old, musty, dry and sour. Getting some apple here too, but it felt more like a regular lambic note than a barrel influence. Nice enough without really pushing the limits.

Off yellow to gold slightly hazy. Small head fades slowly. Nose is bitter and wheat forward. Taste is a chewy granola bar with tree fruit, oak and absolutely no sour at all. Actually a mild tart finish. Medium body great carbonation. Nice but not at all a lambic.

laiti (5554) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 1, 2014
Draught @ Mikkeller & Friends. Aroma has grapefruit, earthy tones and some apricot. No signs of calvados here. Flavour is rather leathery with gastric acid, grapefruit and some orange. Refreshing and nice, although the gastric notes do try to get me.

On tap @ Mikkeller Bar. This is a deep orange /golden looking one, cloudy in the glass with a bit islandy and sidesticking white top. It smells a bit like sløydsal/woodshop. Lots of fresh chopped wood, burned wood, sour apricots and power tools. There is also a brett touch here, light lemonish with cacti and more fresh wood. Sider perhaps? I really kinda like it. In the mouth this is soft oily and it’s a bit soft on the prickling bubbles. I really enjoy the flavors. So refreshing. I just had about 8 different types of sours, but this has to be the best one - by far! Semi dry I suppose you might call this cause it has some mild balancing sweetness left, some soft peachy traces, sour green apple zest and it’s just really packed with flavor. Would not mind revisiting this again and again. 10.01.2014
