a fierce geuze, ripe oranges/mandarin, grapefruit, citric sourness... sour and bitter, great complex sour bitter finish with lots of grapefruit and citrusfruit... stingy carbs... very goodlooking too, murky orange yellow, yellowish head... bottle is a bit too big for my tastes

Late night Geuze Sunday. 2007 vintage. Nice pop of the cork. Pours golden orange, small white head that quickly dissipates. Are all guezes 8%? I thought around 5-6%. Smell is large barnyard funk, sharp lemon tartness, sweaty funky shit, a sweet component. And I like it. These little things aren’t cheap and I see the addictive nature. Funky, delicate, easily age able, lightly tart. Just nice.

From a 22 oz bottle shared at the March 2014 DC RB gathering. Vintage 2009. Pours a hazy gold with a fine white head. Aroma of earth and barnyard. Flavors of bandaid and lemon peel. Smooth tart, finish.

Bottle, vintage 2009. Light hazy orange with a huge creamy off white head. Fruit stack, white grapes, wooden, grapefruit, light alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, high effervescence, but feels soft on the palate. Medium sweet and light sour. A bit on the sweet side, but not much. Very drinkable for the abv. Dangerous.

Hazy yellow amber colour, white foam. Medium carbonation. Aroma of lemon and vinegar with a dry and medium bitter finish. Good geuze but not outstanding.

375ml bottle from ABC Drinks Hoegaarden, Hoegaarden, Belgium.
In short: A nice stright gueuze.
Pous hazy golden with vanishing white head. Poor head retention and lacing. Tart, grapy, malty aromas. Light body, high carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is quite tart, some maltiness. Weel balanced and pretty enjoyable.

Golden colour with a white head, good lasting. Aroma has notes of slightly citrus, some yeasty notes, tarty hints. Flavor has a medium acidic mouthfeel with notes of yeast, slightly fruity. The final is mild acidic, very drinkable.
