Bottle from Hopwater Cellar, Newcastle under Lyme. Easy drinking, dark sour. Certainly sneaks up on you. Cracking.

Bottle at hopaholic pub. Hazy orange colour with a white head. Nose is sour apple, like a cider. Taste is medium sourness. This my first gueuze so i have nothing to compare it to. Strange at first, very atipical beer but a very nice taste. More like a mix of cider and champagne at first, but i like them both so i like this beer as well.

I just don’t get high ABV sours like this or Cuvee de Ranke. The alcohol is too strong so I couldn’t concentrate on the sourness. Prefer Vat 77 to this, and even original Oude Geuze was better.

Clear gold in color... Aroma of funk, hay, earthy grains, lemon... Flavor is funk, lemon, champagne like mouthfeel and dryness... Champagne on the finish... Tastes like funky champagne ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: clear pale amber with a fluffy two fingers of ivory head, good retention and patchy lacing. (4/5) Aroma: complex, barnyard funk, vinous, woody. (9/10) Taste: moderate sweet, mild bitter, moderate-strong tart. (8/10) Palate: medium-light body, lively carbonation, crisp tart finish. (4/5) Whew… glad I got to drink that one before it went off… Though now I wish I had another one to cellar for another couple of decades! An excellent example of the Flemish Gueuze style, with lots of horseblankety funk and vinous champagne character. (17/20)

Aromat: kwaskowy, karmelowy, herbatnikowy z akcentami słomy, ziemi i przysłowiowej końskiej derki. Nieco drewna czy owoców (cytrusów, jabłek), natomiast alkohol nie przytłacza.

Wygląd: barwa złota, zamglona. Piana w kolorze cru, drobno pęcherzykowa, umiarkowanej wielkości i podobnie trwała. Redukuje się do niewielkiego kożuszka i obwódki wokół ścianek.

Smak: spora kwaskowość, nuty wina owocowego, słodu, pszenicy i stodoły, drewna.

2011 Aroma - zesty spice, white grape must, barnyard funk Appearance - hazed pale yellow body, good nucleation. Nice 1 1/2" head. Slowly settles. No lacing. Taste - super barnyard funk, somewhat cheesy. Coriander spice. White flesh fruit. Nice tart. Grape must. Quite complex. Palate - light body, vinuous texture, lively carbonation, and a dry finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Opaque rusty-orange with minimal head. Smell is quite strong - sour grape, bubblegum, strawberry with lots of funky barnyard aroma. Taste is quite dry and a little tart with lots of fruity grain flavor and "old library", not sure how else to describe it. Finish is not too long.
