Pours yellow, hazy, with a big white head. Aromas of lemon, barn and leather. Taste is not that sour and acidic (2010 vintage), but it’s still really good. Lemon and orange, with funky notes and some leather paired with spoiled milk and yogurt. Light body with medium carbonation.

Geuze mariage parfait 2010 Pours a glowing amber-yellow color, with a decent head, soon collapsing to a thin layer of lacing. Smells truly funky, revealing bretts and leathery, old oak among yogurt and lime zest. Oak and dusty malts blend beautifully into the beers tart acidity, creating a fruity, crisp peak, settling on top of the aromas. Very diverse on the nose, with a pungent tartness leading the way. Drinks outstandingly smooth, very soft on the palate with a long lasting, dry, sour finish, while the beer provides a fuller body as for a Geuze. Begins with an aqueous softness, immediately adding citrus, building up a perfect lemonade reminisence, while fuller bodied. Crisp citrus peel gets joined by dusty, mellow malts and hints of glue, while the beer grows more and more acidic. Its got a well working balance to it, due to the prominent malts which even turn a tad sweeter till the end. Finishes actually very mellow and well behaving, while being far away from turning boring. Its real sourness gets revealed in the very end, after the aqueous qualities have left the palate, producing an intense lemony sourness, numbing the teeth while exhibiting a long lasting, fruit infused dryness. Very complex and perfect balanced gueuze, remaining fascinating on the palate until the very end. Provides a medium body, adding a pleasant warmth during the aftertaste with profound lemon throughout. The most amazing part of the beer is its malty qualities, featuring many different flavors from moldy to earthy toffee, adding a lot of character as well as the necessary balance.
