Bottle 2003. Geruch säuerlich, weißweinartig. Start sauer, holzig. Mitte sauer, Holzfaß, trocken. Abgang extrem trocken und sauer. Gefällt mir überhaupt nicht. Not my style.

2010 bottle from Wine Works. Aroma of kiwi, perfume, lemonade, barnyard, and like oak. Pours hazy blonde with great carb and a flashy big head. Taste was stellar with kiwi fruit, oak, barnyard, and lemon zest but all subdued behind a mellow oaky funk. Crisp and delicious. This is everything good about Gueuze.

Corked 37.5 cl bottle @ home (2010 vintage). Pours cloudy golden with a white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are grapes, brett, vinegar, and oak - with a dry and tart finish.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo - I’ve been meaning to try this for a while. A bit like jumping into an ice cold plunge pool - you know it’s going to be different and an assault on the senses, and it is - but it kicks like a mule and is a little bit addictive. Tart like a packet of Haribo sourmix (thanks kids) but with some subtlety too - spices and a hint of Chardonnay grape. Liked it.

Woodshed 3.0! Caged and corked 37.5cl green glass bottle pours with a murky copper body that has gold hues and supports a dirty white head. The aroma offers up tartness, lemon citrus notes, some sour citrus fruit and yeastiness. Taste Tiliquin like but more puckering with rich sour notes that have firm tartness and then thin rivers of soft vinegar running from front to back. It ends pretty dry with lingering sour notes and mild funky yeastiness.

2010 versions, batch 2285, best before 2033.
Appearance: Hazy sunburst body with a tall and dense white head that quickly simmers down to a mostly opaque coating.
Aroma: Tart aroma of green apple with accompanying hay and a bright fruitiness that resembles cherry. The aroma is present with complexity, enjoyable and fun to pick things from.
Taste: Semi-sweet of a sort of peach/apricot fruitiness that leads to a mild astringency and tartness. The finish is dry and slightly leathery with a hay presence. The finish is quick with a very soft lingering tartness. Very nice!
Palate: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: This is a nicely done geuze. I love the mild sweetness that interplays with the tart/dryness by the finish. The finish has a hint of soapiness/rubber eraser presence, but it doesn’t fully distract from the flavor. Solid.

Rich golden color. Smells a little funky but expected for style. Very tart up front and it lingers in after taste. Great sour beer!
