Bottle @ Paters Vaetje, Antwerpen. Hazy medium yellow color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is sour, ripped fruit, lemon crispy. Flavor is moderate sweet and acidic with a long duration and a nice dry finish. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light astringent. Very nice and refreshing. ;o)) (300807)

The aroma is sweet and sour with notes of metal, the sourness coming from the wild fermentation and the sweetness from the malt - a very inviting aroma. The color is orange and it has a fantastic head, and is very lively. The flavor is sweet, metallic, bitter, and bitter. It starts out as a sour orange, but then a the flavor of grapefruit takes over and lingers thru to the end. A great Gueueze - but I can recommend sharing a bottle.

(Bottle 75 cl) My version was only 6% ABV. Golden, hazy - pretty much no head at all. Complex sour, vinegary notes. Very traditional blend with all the horseblanket, sweaty esters. 201297

ZBF2008: From bottle. Pours golden orange/light brown, clear, and with a crispy and quickly disappearing white head. Acidic, light apple aroma. Flavour is dry, yet quite smooth. Light woody and a mild sulphorish note. Ends dry.

Bottled. Hazy nutbrown colour, not much head, but a bit white foam. Very sour aroma and flavour. My first thought when having this was that unless knowing what I drink I would have guessed for a Cantillon. Very pleasant, refreshing and smooth lambic.

Golden coloured and slightly hazy with rich head. Slightly fruity aroma. Balanced acidity, rather mellow, full bodied for a gueuze.

2003 bottle, 6 years old, at ZBF09. Mild cellar aroma. Clear amber colour. The flavour is very mildly citric with a little mold and a distinct oak flavour. Tastes like a mild geuze lagered on used oak casks. Rather high carbonation. 8 3 7 3 16

Mode: Bottle
Source: Green’s, Atlanta
Appearance: clear gold with a big frothy white head that colapses into a fine thin head leaving lace in its wake
Aroma: the funky wood and tart aroma fills the room as you fill your glass, a closer examination reveals a bit of nice tart lemon
Flavor: flavor has a huge lip puckering tartness, lots of wood character, short bitter finish
Overall: goes very well with an aged cheese

Cloudy amber color, with huge head, and long retention. Pungent and powerful aroma, wonderful, with citrus fruits, grapefruit, horseblanket; magnesia and cellar... Good body structure, above other Gueuze examples; malty, possibly with a smoothness that resembles sweetness, with strong dust and cellar character, woody. The ending bitterness is strong, astringent, tannic, and with an edge of cedar peel or bitter peel of oranges; too much.
It starts very well, it ends less exciting.

Hazy golden color; good head retention. Very good Gueuze aroma, plus a nice fruitiness (grapes, grapefruit…). Aggressive, more because of the astringency than the acetic character; woody, mature.
Peculiar, my favorite Gueuze, so far.
