ComradeK (1060) - The Vale of Dundas, - JUN 30, 2013
375ml bottle. Pours a hazy medium gold, with a large white head, which lasts well and leaves good lacing. The aroma offers musk and champagne, along with light oak and leather notes and a touch of funky sourness. Lemon sourness up front is tempered by sweeter musk, which lingers to blend nicely with supple oak. Apple skin tartness and dry champagne come in at the mid-palate, with a sour, slightly leathery finish. A highly enjoyable and very complex gueuze.

McWorta (825) - LUXEMBOURG - APR 4, 2015
Deep golden colour with a fine poring fluffy white head. On the nose aromas of ripe green apple, barnyard, wood and subtle notes of citrus as well as faint hints of nuttyness and funky earth notes develop. Very harmonic! Softly carbonated with a light slick texture and a medium body. Light sweetness up front developing a well balanced tartness and acidity to it. Drying out short-medium finish. A very well done harmonical beer!

37,5cl bottle at home, 24/04/34. Slightly hazy, light golden colour, nicely lively white head. More sweet and soft than the regular Oude Geuze by Boon, bigger malty base: sweet white grapes, vanilla oak, light citrus fruity, less tard, light earthy. Lingering soft and sweet fruity finish, lightly tard and lightly dry. Medium carbonation, good body, soft and dry mouthfeel.

Bottle from MOMH, 2011 sticker. Pours clear and bright orange, rocky white head. Tart aroma, layers of yeastiness and funk, some cheese, socks, dung, lemon zest. High carbonation, punchy in the mouth. Flavour is very tart, candided grapefruit, some caramel, oak, blue cheese, lemon. Dry finish. Alcohol doesn’t present itself in the flavour, despite being higher than many other gueuzes.

Drank the 2011 edition yesterday. Nice colour, very clear. Smells sour, taste is as it should be. Will try my next one in a year.
