COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Geuze Boon is one of the finest examples of the traditional 100% spontaneous fermentation Lambic style. To moderate the sourness, Boon Brewery only brews Lambic in the 7 cold months, from early October until April, according to the traditional "turbid mash" system. This Lambic beer is aged for 1, 2 or 3 years in oak casks. The blend, a mild average 18 months old Lambic (unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised) is refermented in the bottle and can be stored up to 20 years. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Awards at the World Beer Championships: 2008 Gold, 2010 Silver, 2012 Gold Medal.

Golden colour, CO2 propelled with a fine pored medium sized white head. On the nose aromas of apple, farmhouse, barnyard, wheat and wood with hints of grapemust develop. Lively for a brief moment developping a smooth slickness and a medium body. A notch of sweetness makes way for a well noticeable yet moderate sourness. Well balanced hiding its alcohol content well with a coherently fading finish. Nice!

375 ml bottle
Orange slightly hazy beer with little but persistent white head. Totally murky with sediment. Aroma has crisp sour citrus, horse saddle and vinegar. Flavor is sour with citrus juice and vinegar. Palate is medium full with heavy carbonation. Finish has quite heavy bitterness and quite intense sourness. Aftertaste has citrus, apple. slight pale maltiness and vinegar. Adding sediment adds some fruity sweetness all around. A nice gueuze, with good balance between sourness and fruityness.

37,5cl bottle at home, 27/02/2034. Slightly cloudy, light golden colour, nicely lacing white head. White wine tones, citrus fruits, green apples, ginger, light earthy character: mainly tard fruity. Lingering fruity and dry finish, nutmeg coming up late. Relatively high carbonation, medium body, dry mouthfeel.

An basic lambic actually. I just got into this kind of beer so i dont have the wide specter of preferences, but the beer gives me exactly what it promises me. Good aroma, good taste, nice and smooth lambic.

Bottle thanks to Nathan. Pours a cloudy orange with medium creamy off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong funk and apple skin. Thin mouth, nice funk, tart apple, oak, very good.

Bottle of 37.5cl, in a Trappist glass; from the fridge. Great golden cider colour, with a very white head. An aroma of oud geuze, with the wonderful taste of it (for newbies : it’s like cider in a more sour way). Great

Tasted at home and a week later in a pub. Aroma mostly of yeast. Nicely sour. Smooth. And quite cheap. Definitely go-to lambic.

Old rating. Very nice and smooth geuze. Grapes, yeast, brightly sour with dry finish.

My second geuze ever. First one was a young one and this one is definitely way smoother. I still have to get used to the sourness though. It’s nothing I’m used to. It’s nice though.

Lambic style without fruit. Very smooth mouth feel, very dry but pleasantly sour. Nice gentile flavor.
