Oude Geuze Boon is one of the finest examples of the traditional 100% spontaneous fermentation Lambic style. To moderate the sourness, Boon Brewery only brews Lambic in the 7 cold months, from early October until April, according to the traditional "turbid mash" system. This Lambic beer is aged for 1, 2 or 3 years in oak casks. The blend, a mild average 18 months old Lambic (unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised) is refermented in the bottle and can be stored up to 20 years. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Awards at the World Beer Championships: 2008 Gold, 2010 Silver, 2012 Gold Medal.

Złote, mętne piwo o średni obfitej pianie, która szybko redukuje się do zera. Aromat owocowy z lekką kanalizą. W smaku bardzo intensywny kwach i delikatna owocowość. Goryczka niska. Ogólnie bardzo udane piwo, mocny, dziki kwach, chyba stanę się fanem stylu.

Bottle not sure how old, at least 2010 likely older (enjoy by date noted as 26-2-2030). Nice white head, hazy straw gold. Tart funk aroma. A bit musty, horse blanket tartness, but not jaw tightening tart. Carbonation really nice here and as expected. Definitely earthy, natural and straight up Geuze. Finish is pretty clean with minimal aftertaste other than on tongue. Style a bit outside of my favorites list but rareness of drinking one of these makes this a real treat. I’d say if you never had. Having this would be about as representative to style as you can get.

Bottle(cork says 2001/2002!!!): Amber coloured, lots of floaties visible, nearly medium-sized and stable creamy off-white head; moderate to solid sour-sweet aroma of vinegar, mild sweet malt, apples and lemons; moderate sour-sweet flavour, medium bodied, relatively soft; lingering sweet-sour and fruity-cellary finish. Easy drinking, pleasant Gueuze……

big bottle from Little’s. This is a rich gold with a clear body, active carbonation, and a permanent white head. The aroma is funky with notes of muscadines, oak, vinaigrette, straw and crackers. The palate is effervescent and bone dry. The flavor is not as acidic as I thought it would be. Don’t get me wrong, it’s plenty sour, but it’s not bracing like some others in the style. Clean, fruity sourness is complemented by soft oaken notes. This is really, really good and at $9.99 for a 750 mL, one of the cheapest geuzes on the shelf.

Pours a hazy golden amber with a speckled off white head. Nose is lactic tartness, light peach, a little earthy funk, cherries. Flavor is quite sour, more peach and sour cherry, earthy musty funk, a dry, puckering lemony, sharp sourness on the finish. Pretty high carbonation, medium body. Really tasty, surprisingly fruity, great sourness.
