COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Geuze, a mixture of old and young Lambic. The young Lambic is added to cause a refermentation in the bottle making for a delightfully sparkling and dry beer that has been likened, in all seriousness, to Champagne.

05 bottle at the First CST sample #2. Pours golden, looks a bit syrupy. Aroma is also a bit sweeter with lots of funk, honey, definitely on the sweeter side. This is still a bit of a mess, so much residual sugar, quite funky though, finishing oddly bitter and tannic. Sharp fizzy soda pop carbonation.

Pours a hazy orange yellow color with thick white head. Aroma are strong, with fruity and apples and citrus. Flavors of strong sour apples, oak, and a bit smokey. A dry and acid ending, Not sweet, but a well balanced and refreshing geuze.

Bottle. Deep golden colour with a huge white head. Slightly stuffy aroma with notes of apples and citrus. The flavour is sour with hints of apples and lemon. High carbonation. Decent gueuze, not as acidic as I was expecting.

Aroma: Apple mush, barn wood, hints of clove Taste: Wonderful brettanomyces character reminicent of tart fruit/sour candy. Oak barrel favor expressed to a elegantly withheld level.

Small bottle 2005-2006. Poured in an cantillon flute. The body is moisty corn yellow with an impressive white head that fades quickly though - Seems to be pretty hard carbonated. The nose is pretty acidic with notes of vinegar, apples and sour green grapes. The taste is a bitter sweet symphony with some nutty notes like almonds and a mild but kinda strange grapfruity finish. The mouthfeel is light to medium with the caracteristic butter touch.

Davinci (295) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 20, 2009
05 from the First Annual Chicago Sour Tasting, thanks to Andrew. lightly murky golden pour. Sickly sweet aroma, mild tobacco, some weird spiciness, phenolic, hints of maple syrup. Flavor is sweet but also astringent and bitter. More dark tobacco like flavors. Leaves a lasting dry woody/bitter flavor on the tongue. Meh, not the best for sure.
