bottle - Pours blonde with a long lasting one finger head. The aroma is of malt and funky wild yeast. It tastes of sweet malt and brett funk with some mild hops and a dry finish. It’s a light bodied and easy drinking gueuze that makes for a good, every day quaff.

My second gueuze and after how much I liked the hansenns I was looking forward to this one. This actually was less scary in the aroma of hansenns, but not as enjoyable. I liked the tartness, but something in the aftertaste didn’t sit right.

From the bottle pours a hazy, golden orange sunset colored body. A tall column of off-white froth the simmers to a small but lasting layer. Semi-sticky splotches of lacing mark the glass like paintball splatters. The nose shows moderately funky, musty farmhouse notes along with lemony, citric acidity and dusty brett. Flavors of sour lemon and traces of apricot play nicely with the dry, musty, barnyard brett and funky, old oak. Semi-dry and effervescent on the tongue, there’s a champagne-like mouthfeel on this one, minus the sweetness. Soft sourness is the theme here, making this a nice transition lambic that won’t scare away a newcomer, yet remains satisfying enough to the experienced folks. Good beer.

Bottle. Sour musty aroma. Cloudy orange body, small creamy white head. Taste is very dry, with some light sourness. Very pleasant and refined.

Bottle my local major Supermarket decided to clear out at 25% off....bonus. I guess there aren’t enough sour beer drinkers in this part of town. Date on label 06.08.2027.
Lovely golden color, acidic aroma. Effervescent and tart, leading into sour. Very tasty and one of the easier drinking geuzes I’ve tried. The tartness dulls a bit as my mouth gets used to it, but retains enough pucker to keep it enjoyable.
Wishing I would have picked up quite a few more at clear-out prices.

Lovely hazy orange, white head. Fruity aroma, hints of farmyard. Sour flavor and fizzy feel. Yeasty and fruity finish.

A pleasant acidic aroma is a forplay for a darker and more alcoholic taste, than many other gueze sport. Something brutal is lurking underneath the taste, without bursting entirely to the surface. I had the 2005-06 edition.
