2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Barrelbelly (317) - BELGIUM - DEC 18, 2011
Golden with medium head. Taste and aroma mostly sour but stil some roundness and balance to the taste.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 DavoleBomb (965) - Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 5, 2011
Poured into a tulip. 16-09-2030 stamped on back.
3.5 A: Hazed golden wheat color. Three fingers of frothy white head. Retention is just north of average and only small isolated clumps of lacing are left.
4.0 S: Superbly musty. Smells of dryrot, driftwood, and basement. Rather dry with wild apple and peach frutiness. Surprisingly not very acidic. Minor touches of lactic acid with nearly no vinegary acetic acid.
4.0 T: Again, plenty more in terms of funk than acid. This is one of my least puckering true wilds that I’ve had. Musty basement, old socks, pithy woodiness. Wild earthy apple and underripe peach fruitiness. Lemongrass. No acetic and very mild lactic acid.
4.0 M: Lighter medium body. Good spirtzy carbonation. Reasonably smooth with a dry finish.
4.0 D: This is a brett-lover’s gueze. Very earthy and funky without much acidity. Good throughout.

Orange, lätt grumlig öl med flyktigt vitt skum. Doften har en lätt balsamvinägerdragning. Sötare och mindre komplex än Marriage Parfait som också dracks under kvällen.

Slightly hazy very pale yellow colour. Yeasty aroma with a strong white wine vinegar aspect. Good level of carbonation, although not too sharp. Some spice comes through with a citrus and pepper finish, with some sweetness emerging.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Benjii (1686) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 12, 2011
UPDATED: NOV 29, 2011 2009-10 bottle from Beers of Europe. This was the first geuze I tried and I remember hating it. Then next time we were in Belgium I went looking more more and haven’t looked back. This is quite a tart geuze with a golden pour and a thin white head. Aroma is classic horse-blanket, lemon, hay and straw. Big tart lemon flavour upfront with barley, oats and a dry finish. A lovely beer. Quite heavy carbonation and CO2 prickle also. 8,3,8,4,17 (4). 2003-004 Bottle at home. Pours a golden colour with a thick white head. Aroma of lemon, horse-blanket and biscuity malt. Tart lemon flavour upfront with barley, a little balsamic vinegar and hay notes. Heavily carbonated and lovely.
