Oude Geuze Boon is one of the finest examples of the traditional 100% spontaneous fermentation Lambic style. To moderate the sourness, Boon Brewery only brews Lambic in the 7 cold months, from early October until April, according to the traditional "turbid mash" system. This Lambic beer is aged for 1, 2 or 3 years in oak casks. The blend, a mild average 18 months old Lambic (unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised) is refermented in the bottle and can be stored up to 20 years. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Awards at the World Beer Championships: 2008 Gold, 2010 Silver, 2012 Gold Medal.

Super biertje. Echt geweldig om zo’n retrobieren te kunnen drinken dicht bij huis. Dat er veel tegenstanders zijn, kan ik gerust aannemen. Voor liefhebbers echt een geweldig biertje.

Hazy and golden in colour with a fluffy head on it. I hadn’t tried any beer of this style before although I have had sour beer before. The smell is musty, vinegar, wwhite wine and wood. Taste is sour and white wine vinegar with an underlying earthyness. Quite palatable and drinkable, glad I tried it!

Bottle, Boon glass. Pours a murky apple juice color. Aromas are cactus with lime, slightly stale beer. Taste: sour! Cactus and lime, some bitter-lemon, unripe Granny Smith apples. Sweet aftertaste.

2010 vintage. OMG!!! The aroma punches you in the face! This is the most tart, danky, funky, sour, wild beer I’ve ever had. Its cloudy and deep, burnt orange in color. The aroma is f***ing musty, or smells like sex before sex after a hard day of screwing off. Wood, earth, lichen, and bacteria. The palate is great since its effervescent and tart but doesn’t dry the throat to a prune. The body is light refreshing fizz and the flavor sour lime, lemon, oak, earth, and life. Shit, this beer is making me stupid!

250ml at Gollem in Antwerp with Kimberly and Taylor. Pours nice hazy orange with white layer of head. Aroma is nice quality Gueuze, some citrus notes. Taste is nice classic Gueuze, somewhat subdued, but very nice flavorful.

Corked 37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours hazy golden with some sediment and a white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are vinegar, citrus, brett, and oak - with a tart finish.

Bottle. Hazy deep golden color with a huge foamy off-white head. Aroma of apricot, apple and sour yeast. Acidic taste with a bitter finish. Medium thin body. Lively carbonation. This is a perfect gueuze.

Een heel lekkere geuze. Er zijn betere geuzes, maar niet veel, dit is een topper.

Bottle from Getränkefeinkost Berlin. Pour is gold witha large foamy head, aroma is sour and acidic. Taste is acidic, with faint fruity notes, pleasant carbonation and a very dry finish. Quite nice

Pours from the bottle with a cloudy golden yellow-orange color and is topped by a massive, pillowy eggshell-white head. The aroma is a lively combination of apple cider, vinegar, and damp earth. The flavor is likewise acidic yet earthy, with components of tart white grape juice, sour green apples, and a light woodiness. The lively, sharp, fine carbonation accents the acidicy, and yet this beer is surprisingly palate-coating. Overall, this beer reminds me more of a tart white wine, but in a most intriguing way.
