COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Geuze Boon is one of the finest examples of the traditional 100% spontaneous fermentation Lambic style. To moderate the sourness, Boon Brewery only brews Lambic in the 7 cold months, from early October until April, according to the traditional "turbid mash" system. This Lambic beer is aged for 1, 2 or 3 years in oak casks. The blend, a mild average 18 months old Lambic (unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised) is refermented in the bottle and can be stored up to 20 years. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Awards at the World Beer Championships: 2008 Gold, 2010 Silver, 2012 Gold Medal.

375ml cork and cage bottle at home in Richmond as ’Boon Oude Geuze’, 7%, 2011/12 season. Pale orange, highly sparkling, light haze, foamy dense white head endures. Aroma is sherbet, a room full of air freshener. A heady, musty, floral, fruity mix that’s difficult to describe. Very fresh and very nice. Body is quite foamy, tingly carbonation, tooth-coating. Taste is tart citrus, some apple, metallic and acidic into the finish. A pretty good beer, but their Mariage Parfait is significantly better and not much more expensive.

Bottle at hopaholic. Hazy yellow colour with almost no head. Nose is funky, green apple and horseblanket. Taste is medium sourness, dominated by green apple. Very similar to original french ciders.

One of the more neutral "Geuze" beers. Really good overall Geuze beer.

fajny aromat stajenny i lekko cytrynowy, genialnie pijalne jak na 7% alko, kwaśność bardzo niska, trochę cierpkie(to chyba drewno daje takie opcje), goryczka delikatna, posmak cytrynowo/jabłkowo stajenny

Golden orange, not clear, white head. Soir taste, lasts long. Touches of citrus. Goes well with apple, or apple crumble. Do not make the beer scare you after the first , bite. Give it a trie.

750 ml. corked and caged bottle. Years 2012, 2013. Best before 2033. Shared with Gabe. Pours a thick mousse, well retained ivory head, over a hazy gold (SRM 5) body.....nose is lightly sour, with barnyard, horse blanket notes, apple, pear, grapefruit. no hops......taste is slightly sour with moderate honey, pear, apple, grapefruit, moderate barnyard, all accompanied by moderate tart sourness, mild malts, no hops......mouth feel, light of medium body, no alcohol, slight astringency, high carbonation. This meets the style quite well, with complex aromas and flavors which meet the individual characteristics wonderfully. The only flaw is the cloudiness in appearance. BJCP 9/3/16/4/8

Bottle. Cloudy, straw/orange colour with frothy white head. Heavy lime/lemon/orange juice aromas, funk, vinegar and wood. Flavours of lime and pineapple juice, vinegar, cider and wood. Tart throughout, well carbonated. Delicious beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

375ml bottle. Hazy dark amber color. Medium size, white bubbly head, stays. Burnt plastic, wet grassy hops, sourish, acidic, rubber in aroma. Rubber, acidic, wet hops, grainy, rhubarb in taste. Rhubarb in burps. Wet hops turn more grassy in aftertaste. Crisp acidic mouthfeel. Tad too much carbonation for me, but keeps palate refreshing. Wouldn’t say it’s 7% so props for that. Drinkable brew.
