3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Slightly hazy pale yellow appearance, some sedimentation, strong carbonation with a lot of foaming. Citric and yeasty aroma, dry but soft sour taste with good body. Good Gueuze style beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
37,5 cl bottle (2010-2011). Light yellow amber body with a tall head. Aroma has light sourness and mild dry funk with dried apples. Medium to even low tartness. Even kind of sweet but not as sweet as the fruit ones. Lambic lovers will find this to be too sweet but for me the balance is right. Any more sourness and it would start to lose drinkability - Oude Geuze Mariage Parfait was too sour for me, therefore this one gets a higher rating.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Look: Pours with a fizzy sound, average white head. Fully diminishing. Fair/low amount of lacing. Dark yellow, cloudy, a few particles floating around. Almost no carbonation. Nothing too impressive.
Smell: Sharp fresh, acid, lemon, vinegar with musty, earthy, farmhouse funk. Beneath hides light sweetness and yeast. Fair enough.
Taste: Very light sweet start then fast overwhelming medium sour (lemon zest, vinegar...). Then comes very light funk - must say I’m missing some, hoped there would be more. After the sour part it gets unexpectedly watery, a bit herbal. Medium sour with light musty funk stay in the end.
Mouthfeel: Crisp carbonation, dry, fresh, light body.
Overall: Very drinkable, sour OK, but missing something more, gets old too fast.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: JAN 25, 2014 My first Geuze. 375ml bottle 2010-2011 at home. Smells somewhat fresh, but not really a nice smell. Tastes bit sour, but not too much. Not much aftertaste, but the more you drink the more sour it seems to get. Not my favourite beer, but I’ll definitely try other Geuzes.

0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
No idea how or why people like this type of beer. It’s the only style I just can’t appreciate. Incredibly sour acidic taste. Could only manage half a bottle before it was too much. Awful beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Orange pour with a massive white head that slowly fades to a thick cap. Nice lacing. A lot carbonation. Strong aroma that can be smelled from a couple of feet away. Aroma is lemon juice, funk, barnyard, green apple, and wood. Taste has citric acid, a little lactic, dusty funk, and wood. Dry palate with some carbonation prickle. Really nice.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle (375ml). Hazy golden colour. Two-inch white fine-bubbled head, slowly dissipating while creating soft foam shapes. Settles as a thick film with some lacing. Harmonious aroma of horse blanket, vinegar, leather, wood, yeast, citrus. Medium body, average carbonation, refreshing mouthfeel. Taste is fairly complex - starts out mildly acidic (citrus zest and aged vinegar), nicely balanced by a woody oxidized sweetness, then gradually grows more tart. Finishes with a tongue-drying lemon zest bitterness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled, 0.25l. Hazy deep golden color with sparkling appearance and large frothy off-white head that slowly dissipates into more creamy and stable one. Head retention is fabulous, lacing is good, while few floating body particles can be noticed, too. Aroma of vinegar, sweat, citrus, dust with some cypress hints. Taste starts with short malty touch, then sudden strong acetic tastes kicks in. Following is yeasty, vinous with mild fruity notes and spicy mouthfeel and almost without any bitterness. Medium to full body, slick texture and fizzy natural carbonation in palate. Strange from the beginning, but you can get used to it quickly...
