3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 MrStitch (138) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 22, 2008
Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a bubbly one finger white head. Aroma is vinegar, must, spices, and a hint of fruit. Taste is very dry and tart, notes of citrus, spices, and vinegar dancing around in the flavor of this beer. Mouthfeel is clean, tart, and has almost a refreshing characteristic to it. A very nice lambic that I will enjoy again.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 heavy (1466) - Split, CROATIA - APR 8, 2008
06/04 0.375 l bottle at Hopdevil, Zagreb, brewing season 2004-2005. Poured slightly murky golden body with medium head. Sourish fruits aroma with grassy and other spices like cloves, cinnamon, or even wood. Nice sour flavor, citrus and green apples, bit winey, not too much, I like such a real, strong and classic gueuze character. Quite full bodied, fizzy carbonated makes finish sharp, sourish and dry, but long and pleasant, pretty much digging out the best from the flavor. Great are those two lambics I’ve tried these days, although different a lot, so I couldn’t say which was better, but probably this one.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DSG (2635) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - APR 1, 2008
(3/2/08) Bottle sample at Zythos Bier Festival 2008 in Sint Niklaas. Cloudy orange. Nice barnyard, oak and citrus aroma. Great sour citrusy, very dry flavor. Some bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Zinister (1417) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 31, 2008
Foam Rangers tasting. Dirty gold pour with rich off-white head. Good amount of funk going on, mixed with citrus and strangely, salami...odd. Flavor is tart with citrus and still that salami taste.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 SledgeJr (3579) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAR 30, 2008
Sampled at the 2008 Crescent Moon Extreme Beerfest. Pours a cloudy gold with a white head. The aroma is a curious mixture of cardboard and orchids. Perhaps a bit of potted meat product in the aroma as well. Thin body. Mildy acidic throughout and this acid extends all the way through the finish. Not so much battery acid as you cannot drink it though. A drying citrus helps to keep things drinkable.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Whelk (123) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 30, 2008
Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a thick off-white head. Aroma is funky, sour, horsey, cidery, citrus, a bit cheesy. Flavors are substantial tart citrus, a little salty, cidery, maybe a little wheat and bread. Carbonation was soft but substantial.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 kmweaver (3025) - Santa Rosa, California, USA - MAR 29, 2008
12oz bottle. Pours a hazy, golden-brown color; off-white head with solid retention and lacing. Lots of funk, horseblanket, and salt in the aroma; cheesy and some citrus, but a bit too much salt for me; a touch of metal. Medium mouthfeel: plenty of tart citrus, salt, and metallic yellow fruits upfront; definitely shows a fair amount of authentic-like-lambic complexity, but it just isn’t overly pleasant to drink: again, salty and metallic and just a bit overripe; sharp citrus and carbonation. Medium finish, showing citrus, bread, and some salt.
