4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2007 Sour, barnyard and horseblanket with yeast weirdness. Amber colored and a moderate head. Sour flavor, but not sour enough. Light acid, some citrus, and lots of yeast. Very nice.

Hmm what a disappointment. So i have had a few of teh Lindemans Lambic Fruits, but this was horrid. Aroma was pungent. Appearance was like that of a cheap pilsner. Mouthfeel was very very sour. Flavor was harsh and not enjoyable. 8 bucks for hell. Only thing good was to get another style on my list.

Pours a clear pilsner-like golden color with a nice light tan head. Nice tart nose of green apple and cherry. Nice tart earthy flavor, but its a slightly watery mouthfeel. There is a slight metalllic feel to it, but it is still good. Great nose and upfront tart flavor, but the finish is somewhat lacking.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2007 Bottle 2000-01 from Dovetail. Golden in colour topped with a thin foamy head. Yeasty champagne aroma with notes of cork and barn. Taste of pickled oranges (if ever there were such a thing), lemon, lime and cork. Doh! Short, salty dry finish. Slightly bitter with an acidic citrus edge. A good beginner gueuze. Shara hated it, but I thought it was ok.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Thought I had rated this before, oh well. Hazy orange/amber color with a medium sized white head. Nice funky, tart aroma of citrus, wet leather and dirty socks(in a good way). Flavor starts off mildly sweet before turning tart. Citrus fruit, a touch of Brett and an astringent, grassy finish. Enjoyable, but not on par with the great gueuzes IMO.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Fancy 12 oz cage corked bottle. There may have once been a date listed on the label. If so it has since rubbed off. No way to know how long its been on the shelf at Lueken’s in Dunedin. I’ve bought five year old bottles there before. It poured clear gold to copper color with white head. The aroma is tart grape fruitiness and hints of sourness. The flavor is much like the aroma with tart grapes, tart sourness, hints of funky sourness and then more tartness. Tough to judge this one considering its my first sampling of the style.

Wonderful colour, hazy and orange. Sour, quite fruity, not too challanging but well balanced and very enjoyable. Nice to see a geueze available in the desert of good beer (Ireland.)

Shared a bottle of this with a friend. He had never had a Geuze before and the sourness shocked him - I smiled. Mild sourness, with some citrus funk in the background. Poured dark golden with a light white head that quickly faded. The taste was surprisingly dry with a sparkling quality. Pretty decent as sour beers go.
