Ungstrup (11560), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 11, 2003 The aroma is nicely sour with notes of sweetness, fruits, and lemon. The color is a hazy orange and it has a fine though disappearing head. The flavor is rather sweet for a Geueze, but it still has the bite it should have. The bite in this one is from the sourness with lemon notes. It ends on a woody dryness. A great Geueze - maybe because it is a little sweeter than the most sour and metallic Geuezes, but still not too sweet; like a Faro or some of the commercial Geuezes. Papsoe (11030), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 23, 2005 Updated: Oct 30, 2007(Bottle 37,5 cl) Comes as "Geuze Boon" at 6% ABV. Beautiful, fully golden beer albeit very hazy. Marvellous almost exotic nose - sherry perhaps - but also very acidic notes. The acidity continuous in the flavours, but this is far from the extreme sourness found in other traditional gueuzes. Wonderfully aromatic with some metallic notes. Well-conditioned - good one. 060200 and 110700 omhper (10900), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 24, 2002 Dark yellow. Hazy. Dry, but not sourish. Balanced, simple. Some late bitterness. yespr (7122), Copenhagen O, Denmark Feb 27, 2008 37.5 cL bottle, 2003-2004 vintage. Pours hazy orange with a creamy/bobbly off-white head. Aroma is dried woody, acidic and with a light citrus to orange note. Flavour is dry and acidic. Solid woody tone into the finish. Medium sour to light sweet note. Easy accesible gueuze. Oakes (6999), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Nov 21, 2000 Refreshing example of the style. But I prefer the more assertive, sour varieties from Hanssens, Girardin, Cantillon and Cuvee Rene
