COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Geuze, a mixture of old and young Lambic. The young Lambic is added to cause a refermentation in the bottle making for a delightfully sparkling and dry beer that has been likened, in all seriousness, to Champagne.

Pours a hazy golden straw with a nice white head. Strong yeast aroma, very champagne like, some Brett. Taste is sweet at first then a strong tart flavor comes along. This has a lot of malt and very light old hop bitterness, and a strong Brett character. Good carbonation and body. A nice brew.

(Bottle - Brewing season 2002-2003) Pours hazy brown/orange with huuuuuge white and fluffy head, unfortunately quickly disappearing though. Massive and very dry citrus (grape fruit / lemon) notes dominate this beer. Carbonation is strong yet soft, and champagne alike.

Overall really good..

355 ml bottle, best before 25/04/2027, does not have ’oude’ on the label- forceful champagne like carbonation behind the cork, has a very full and funky aroma, lemony and acidic, half-rotted hay, a touch of wet leather. Taste is grapefruit pith, citric acid, oak cask,a little remaining body exits leaving behind nothing but dry dry dry. I love gueuze.

It is my honest opinion that Frank Boon is producing the finest Lambics available, and this is probably my favorite one. What striking character! What complexity! Earthy, fruity, leather, ’dry sherry’, barnyard, a light nuttiness - all amidst a sparkling, foaming, bright golden body. The aroma alone is enough to hold my attention for hours. Love it or leave it... I love it!

Golden yellow colour, few head. Has an aroma of flowers and underwood. The flavor is slightly acid and tart. Long aftertaste.

Medium sour aorma, medium sour tastes, medium body. Overall, quite nice, when all is considered. All the "mediums" are based upon the class of beer that this falls into. The beer is very well done.

Pours cloudy orange with a good long lasting head. Aroma is citrus, apple and some mild barnyard aroma. Nothing aggressively sour, but just a very drinkable and mild geuze.

Bottle 2006-2007, drunk Dec 2009. citrus, pale, hazy, rocky head, lightly bitter, medium sourness, soft carbonation, bitter. Fruity, sharp aroma. Sour taste gives way to a balanced, bitter finish. Pretty nice.

Quite bitter, lots of funk, amazing amounts of wood. Bit of citrus in there as well. A kind of harsh bitter after taste that doesn’t change the drinkability for the better. Still good beer though.
