COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Geuze, a mixture of old and young Lambic. The young Lambic is added to cause a refermentation in the bottle making for a delightfully sparkling and dry beer that has been likened, in all seriousness, to Champagne.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2007 37.5cl cork bottle bought in Belgium. SOUR!!!! First impression is only sour, sour sour.... like biting into a lemon, but after a while (about half the bottle) you get used to it and begin to discover some subtle woody tastes and smells. The palate feels very much like a French wine; a dry white one with a lemon and wooden-casket feel to it. Fun to try but not my kind of beer. Great for very hot summer days though.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow golden color. White type head. Aroma is orange peel with super citrus. Funky and citrus in nature. This is farmhouse for sure.

05 from the First Annual Chicago Sour Tasting, thanks to Andrew. lightly murky golden pour. Sickly sweet aroma, mild tobacco, some weird spiciness, phenolic, hints of maple syrup. Flavor is sweet but also astringent and bitter. More dark tobacco like flavors. Leaves a lasting dry woody/bitter flavor on the tongue. Meh, not the best for sure.

Golden color, white head, lots of carbonation. Aroma is sour and woody. Taste is very sour and citrusy. Finish is dry. Interesting, but not a favorite style of mine.

(on bottle) Hazy orange, very fruity nose, allmost like bnbons. Pickling fresh, loads of sourness, but the sticky sweetness stays around. Would be good for a hot afternoon or as a menu starter. Had it on a smoked bar, and that diden´t make the experience that great.

’05 Bottle from the First Annual Sour Tasting, thanks to andrew. Pours a clear copper orange with a creamy bobbled off white head that laces down in spots. Somewhat stinky cheesy sweet aroma of phenols and chemicals. Citrus earthy flavors with tannins and funk. Long earthy bitter finish with the tannins and earthy hops. Odd and not enjoyable.

05 bottle at the First CST sample #2. Pours golden, looks a bit syrupy. Aroma is also a bit sweeter with lots of funk, honey, definitely on the sweeter side. This is still a bit of a mess, so much residual sugar, quite funky though, finishing oddly bitter and tannic. Sharp fizzy soda pop carbonation.
