COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Geuze Boon is one of the finest examples of the traditional 100% spontaneous fermentation Lambic style. To moderate the sourness, Boon Brewery only brews Lambic in the 7 cold months, from early October until April, according to the traditional "turbid mash" system. This Lambic beer is aged for 1, 2 or 3 years in oak casks. The blend, a mild average 18 months old Lambic (unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised) is refermented in the bottle and can be stored up to 20 years. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Awards at the World Beer Championships: 2008 Gold, 2010 Silver, 2012 Gold Medal.

Bottle my local major Supermarket decided to clear out at 25% off....bonus. I guess there aren’t enough sour beer drinkers in this part of town. Date on label 06.08.2027. Lovely golden color, acidic aroma. Effervescent and tart, leading into sour. Very tasty and one of the easier drinking geuzes I’ve tried. The tartness dulls a bit as my mouth gets used to it, but retains enough pucker to keep it enjoyable. Wishing I would have picked up quite a few more at clear-out prices. Serving type: bottle

Corked 37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours hazy golden with some sediment and a white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are vinegar, citrus, brett, and oak - with a tart finish.

Bottle. Hazy deep golden color with a huge foamy off-white head. Aroma of apricot, apple and sour yeast. Acidic taste with a bitter finish. Medium thin body. Lively carbonation. This is a perfect gueuze.

Een heel lekkere geuze. Er zijn betere geuzes, maar niet veel, dit is een topper.

Bottle from Getränkefeinkost Berlin. Pour is gold witha large foamy head, aroma is sour and acidic. Taste is acidic, with faint fruity notes, pleasant carbonation and a very dry finish. Quite nice

Pours from the bottle with a cloudy golden yellow-orange color and is topped by a massive, pillowy eggshell-white head. The aroma is a lively combination of apple cider, vinegar, and damp earth. The flavor is likewise acidic yet earthy, with components of tart white grape juice, sour green apples, and a light woodiness. The lively, sharp, fine carbonation accents the acidicy, and yet this beer is surprisingly palate-coating. Overall, this beer reminds me more of a tart white wine, but in a most intriguing way.

0.25l bottle. Golden color with white head. Aroma is woody, funky, earthy and basement aromas. Taste is sour without any residual sweetness. Dry finish. Overall it’s quite unique and interesting beer.

Fantastic geuze. Light and dry and incredibly pungent. Lots of sourness and a good amount of earthy finish.

Bottle thanks to Ian! Pours a hazy straw colour with a white head. Funky light veg, a little meat, farm. Light body, medium carbonation. Lemon, white wine, white bread, a little gooseberry... Lovely balance. Tasty! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Boon’s representative in the proud league of ’oude geuzes’ with a powerful, rocky, snow white, stable, very sticky head leaving finely structured lacing on the glass; colour orange blond, misty. Aroma of ’malse’ (soft) lambic, some sharp wine vinegar but still primarily the more ’mellow’ lambic aromas, yoghurt, wheat, red berries; taste mild lactic acid, citric acid rather subtle, soft mouthfeel, complex, wheaty, fruity, sherry notes, finishing dry with a leafy, ’old’ hoppiness typical for the ’overyear’ hops used in lambic. Not my absolute favorite in the style but I am an admirer of the style in general and I would recommend this as a good introduction, also because it is one of the more easily available authentic geuzes.

Deep amber color, average sized white head. Medium body, lively carbonation. Aroma of white whine, sour apples and vinegar. Medium to high sourness in taste with long sour apple finish. Really not my cup of tea.
