tytoanderso (1382), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA Jun 3, 2008 Bottle. Dated 12.12 on the back. Light cherry tartness with a requisite amount of rubbery and stinky funk on the nose. Pours a dark, rich ruby with a thin whiteish pink head. Slightly acidic and tart on the tongue with just a touch of residual cherry sugar. Medium body with prickly carbonation leading to a rather dirty and funky finish. Decent. mj (4975), Colorado, USA Jun 3, 2008 Moderately sweet syrupy cherry flavor, a bit candy-like but it has a good amount of subtle tartness and a mild acidity. Thick and vinuous, fresh, but not loud. Color is rich dark ruby red. Rciesla (3510), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Jun 2, 2008 Bottle. Pours a ruby body with a pink head. Aroma is sour cherries, sweet fruit, and woodiness. Flavor is a dry woody sour cherries with a slightly acidic finish. Great! cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 1, 2008 Updated: Jul 11, 2008My mouth starting watering the moment I opened the box when I got this from puzzl in a trade. Beautiful black cheery colored pour with a big foamy pink head, even when gently poured. Some chunks of bottom yeast sit on top of the foam. Good attractive sour lambic aroma dotted with cherry fragrance. The palate is tingly and sour. Not very much sweetness, if at all. Normally I like sweetness in a fruit lambic but I’m not missing anything in this one. Each sip is a sour sensation of hair raising proportions. Delightful and refreshing, fun and dee-lish. Some hints of wet woolen horse blanket permeates the taste buds. This beer rocks! Quite invigorating. Has teeny bit of lingering bitterness in the finish but not too noticeable. Andy, I owe you for this one! TaxiDriver (910), Stadland, Germany May 20, 2008 Bottle year 2004 edition. The first smell is a little bit sweet (cherries), then it gets really heavy sour. The body is dark red, the head is light red and very small, it disappears fast. The taste is very sour and refreshing, normal long duration. Nearly no carbonation, rather dry with a very astringent finish, medium body. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark May 15, 2008 Bottle @<a href=http://ratebeer.com/forums/thisted-kalder---%F8lsmagning-den-1204 87119.htm target= new> Thisted Tasting by Maria.. Unclear light red color with a aveage, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light red head. Aroma is moderate cherry, sour, wood, currant sour. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate acidic with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (120408) JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium May 10, 2008 Pleasant and tart lambic that’s more juicy than funky. And I’m OK with that. Half-bottle pours a deep maroon with pink bubbles that disappear quickly. Nose full of sour cherry and unripe lemon. Flavor is moderately sour, with more cherry than citrus, big fruit. Feels tannic but lively in the mouth. I like this more as a sipper or aperitif than something to throw back and drink with a meal. Possibly underrated for its lack of funk. This is a finer drink. CharlesDarwin (1824), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA May 6, 2008 30.03.2026. SB46. 355mL Bottle. Lightly medicinal cotton and cherries. Plenty of light funk comes through. Some tree bark and peach stems. A drop of sweetness and general fruit. A bit of pie. Pours a beautifully clear vermilion, with a rose-tinted head sparsely cornering the edges of the class. Flavor is rich and deep. Very forward fruit. Canned pie cherries, light black cherry syrup, and pie crust. A heavy, forward cherry flavor. Definitely not sticky or cloying, but it dominates the beer, as it should. The funk that was in the nose has diminishes to carrying some higher alcohols into the nostrils. Nicely sour and dry. Balanced between fruit and cottony lambic character. The flavor are a little restrained for me, and the pie-like cherry flavor masks too much of the lambic for my tastes, but it’s all clean, bright and delightful. Superbly soft.
