Bottle in Brussels. Pours a pure bright red color with a small white head. The aroma is tart wood and cherries. The flavor is a very tart sour woody flavor, some cherries. Light sweet fruit, but more dry tartness. Nice.

Pours a brighter red, almost orange, pink head. Taste was definitely lambic, no sugary stuff here, but it was a sour lambic and I’ve had better krieks recently. Still if you like the more sour krieks this is a good choice.

Bottle with a best before of 03.30.2026. Pours with a vibrant red hue (slightly hazy) with a lasting pink head. Aroma of funk, barnyard, citrus, vibrant cherries. Flavor starts with a bit of cough syrup, citric acid, wet leaves, with lasting acid on the palate. Acidic, dry and good.

Small deep pink head. Hazy red body. Strong spicy milky cherry aroma with waxy soft metal notes. Very harmonic. Dry-sweetish peppery cherry and raspberry taste with waxy metal notes. Mild mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry waxy peppery cherry aftertaste with long lingering dried cherry and raspberry notes. Excellent! Lovely! A real triumph, this. Lovely cherry taste just lingers and lingers. (0.375l bottle, de Biertempel, Bruges.)

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2011 375ml 2006 bottle. Pours brown-tinged venous blood red with a fizzy pink head that retreats to the rim. Aroma of sour cherries, yeast - more basement than barnyard, vinegar. Taste is full of cherries with some lemon sourness. It’s not sweet at all but sourness is restrained but not neutralised by the fruit. The yeast character has depth but it’s not all that funky. Dry with a dry finish. Very nice - approachable with depth. [4.1]

Another 2006 bottle. Lasting pink head this time. Cherries haven’t faded at all, if anything there’s a slight jamminess which works against the slipperiness of the mouthfeel and obscures the sour notes a bit. Dry finish.
