Well I was hoping for more from this one. Seeing as I really like the standard Boon Kriek and the Mariage Parfait is so highly rated I feel this one is a little bit of a let down. Don’t get me wrong tho it is still a very decent brew. The aroma gets better and better the more I sniff. Initially it was just a funky tart but the cherries are coming on strong. Middle of the road body and carb and I should say now how well this keeps its head given it’s age (Six year old bottle) Looks wise its not the best looking kriek, its a little murky and muddy looking. Palate is good with the sour and tarty zing around the mouth at the rather abrupt finish. Slighty funky with only a polite nod towards the cherries and dry with a hint of spruce. It’s ok but there are much better krieks. thewolf (5842), Kolding, Denmark
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jul 2, 2007 Bottle 2004. Pours a deep muddy red with a funny-looking pink head. Aroma is sweet and fruity with plenty of cherries to go around. Flavour is sour with a clear definition of the berries - there is some barn and wood in there as well. Not my favourite lambic. bu11zeye (5731), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2006 (375ml bottle) Pours a hazy reddish body with a moderate light pink head. Aroma of sour cherries and earthiness. Organic flavor of acidic cherry with a touch of oak barrel. Descent kriek, but does not rank among the elite. Rastacouere (5566), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2005 2000 bottle obtained thanks to Jeppe. Decent lacing covers a deep pink to ruby hue. Sweaty damp earth nose, highly woody, sandalwood, sweet leather. Not much cherry character at all and actually a very restrained tartness doesn’t seem to match the expectations I had for this beer. Quite dusty in mouth, mellowed tartness, cobwebby palate feels very old and reminds of the old 750s musty marriage parfait gueuzes in terms of aging characteristics. Dry quick finish is pleasantly musty if short. Spicy, salty and peppery hints throughout. Very foamy palate, expanding mouthfeel, medium bodied. Better than the regular boon kriek, but definitely far from the greatness I expected. Still, thanks a lot Jeppe. Magicdave6 (5560), London, Greater London, England

Aroma is straight up grassy fresh lambic funk noteable tart berry character, minimal cherry. Taste is pluckering, not too sour, more tart lambic funk, again slight hints at cherrys. A good drinkable kriek. Rerate: Whole bottle at home. has been settling for a good while now, gloreous dark rd, crystal clear colour, with pink head. Aroma is apple lambic funk, yea ha, amazing notable sweeter cherry hints. Taste is funky and the cherry sneaks up on you in the finish and is so intence id think it was slightly sweetened. But its not and its amazing and i want to sit with my french cheese and bacon and onion bread and go mmmmmmmmmm. hopscotch (5558), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Murky, brownish-red ale with a mid-sized, frothy, pink-tinted head. Excellent retention. Acidic, funky nose with bushels of sweet & sour cherries, horse blanket and mild barnyard. Sour flavor with distinguished cherries and lots of fruity, pungent goodness. Medium-bodied with an astingent mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Mid-length, sour, lightly bitter finish. Kudos to boboski for providing this one! CaptainCougar (5549), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma of sweet cherries with some tart yeasty funk and mild earthy barnyard character. Body starts with a light sweetness, quickly balance with tart fruity cherries and drying out toward the puckering finish. A nice, authentic cherry lambic, but might be slightly over-attenuated.
