Tmoney99 (7297) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 1, 2008
Bottle from Crown #19, Indy. Poured clear reddish color with an average frothy reddish head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate complex sour cherry aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium sour cherry flavor with a medium sour finish of moderate duration. Sour refreshing brew.

Bottle (vintage 2000): Reddish-amber coloured, hazy, some floaties visible, sourish-cellary nose with a pronounced almondy cherry fruitiness; light to medium bodied, pretty soft MF, moderate sourish-sweet flavour; lingering - as well - sourish-sweet finish, cherries and cellary flavours detectable. A nice fruit-beer......

A Mes rate; Well I was hoping for more from this one. Seeing as I really like the standard Boon Kriek and the Mariage Parfait is so highly rated I feel this one is a little bit of a let down. Don’t get me wrong tho it is still a very decent brew. The aroma gets better and better the more I sniff. Initially it was just a funky tart but the cherries are coming on strong. Middle of the road body and carb and I should say now how well this keeps its head given it’s age (Six year old bottle) Looks wise its not the best looking kriek, its a little murky and muddy looking. Palate is good with the sour and tarty zing around the mouth at the rather abrupt finish. Slighty funky with only a polite nod towards the cherries and dry with a hint of spruce. It’s ok but there are much better krieks.

37.5 cl bottle at Oude Arsenaal. BB 08/2026. Crystal clear, bright ruby red with a thick creamy pink head that actually sticks around. Bright fruity aroma, lots of sweet cherry and cherry skin tannins. Much less citrus and acid that other krieks, but it still has an authentic dustiness. Herbal character and a touch of black currant fruitiness. Soft lactic sourness that just cuts through the inherent fruity sweetness. Quite rich tasting with a good balance of soft fruit, dusty yeast and mild lactic tartness. Soft finish. Another great brew.

Bottle enjoy by 10/5/2024: Pours a clear effervescent ruby red with a large, pillowy pinkish head. Aroma of sweet cherries with some tart yeasty funk and mild earthy barnyard character. Body starts with a light sweetness, quickly balance with tart fruity cherries and drying out toward the puckering finish. A nice, authentic cherry lambic, but might be slightly over-attenuated.

Superb trough-and-trough red; pink "rosé" head, quite stable for the acidity. Nose of cherries,'horseblanket', wet wood, slightly smoked, various organic acids. Taste: extremely tart, very outspoken tannine-rich, and then sour fruit: sour cherries, green apples, and very clearly redcurrant. Mouthfeel gives expected dry-effect, but might have some more body from the fruit - as if there's been too much blending with young lambic. The finish is stil very acidic and red fruit. Drinkability is somewhat more restrained than overall impression. Not for the fainthearted. Pity about the body.

maeib (6630) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - SEP 18, 2006
Bottled (2003 vintage) - ’t Brugs Beertje - Brugge. A dark red coloured lambic with a thick pinky coloured head. The aroma is tart and acidic with cherry fruits. Sour and welcoming nose. The taste is on the sour acidic side but is also fairly light and fruity. Not as deep tasting as some lambics but still mouth puckeringly nice. Very tasty but seems to miss some tricks.

BMan1113VR (6459) - Los Angeles, California, USA - AUG 3, 2010
Bottle with a best before of 03.30.2026. Pours with a vibrant red hue (slightly hazy) with a lasting pink head. Aroma of funk, barnyard, citrus, vibrant cherries. Flavor starts with a bit of cough syrup, citric acid, wet leaves, with lasting acid on the palate. Acidic, dry and good.

Moderately sweet syrupy cherry flavor, a bit candy-like but it has a good amount of subtle tartness and a mild acidity. Thick and vinuous, fresh, but not loud. Color is rich dark ruby red.
