COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Kriek Boon is one of the finest examples of the 100% spontaneous fermentation fruit-Lambic style. 400 g of wild cherries per litre are fermented together with a blend of young and old Boon Lambic that has been aged in oak casks. After clarification, the Oude kriek is bottled and refermented. It is unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised and has no artificial flavourings, preservatives or colourings added. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Pour slowly in a flute glass without disturbing the yeast sediment in the bottle. Cheers !

Pours a nice cherry red with a half-inch slow diffusing bubbly head. Aroma of sour cherries, alfalfa, and some oak. Lively carbonation and tart flavors on the palate. Slightly astringent in the finish. Sour cherries, unripe persimmons. Excellent!

Bottle. Dark ruby colour with lasting pink head. Aroma is cherry and some yeast. Taste is sour cherry with some wood/oak. High carbonation. Even if its not "my style" its no problem admit this is a quality brew!

Stunned that I have not rated this. Bottle of the 2011. When I take off the wire case on the cork the cork just pops out and hits the roof. It’s in perfect condition though. Opaque deep red, with a medium white head which dissipates to a thin head which stays throughout. Nose is tart and sour but suffused with sweet fruity cherry. Acid and sour nose but the fruit really come through. Taste is moderately tart and sour, balanced out with a very natural cherry sweetness, moderately acidic and sweet on the tongue. Perfect balance for a kriek. Slight funkiness but I’m loving the fruit in this.

Doft av körsnärssaft. Smaken är detsamma. Mer sur än besk eftersmak som fyller ut hela munnen en hyfsad stund. God och njutbar öl. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Aroma: at first metallic, then dry, sour cherries. Appearance: hazy red, big, frothy, red head. Taste: medium bitter. Palate: dry sours emerge, dry cherries, some wood. Overall: now I didn’t think this is that great for a Lambic fruit beer, aroma odd, palate very one dimensional. Bottle form Wittich Weine, Olten.

Rödbrun färg med rosa lätt skum. Måttligt syra med lagom toner av hallon, mycket körsbär och citron. Frisk sötaktig syra. Spännande belgisk spontanjäst fruktöl som man med tiden kan gilla.

from 37,5cl bottle, deep dark red colour with a nice pink head. note is again very sweet cherry, sweetend cherry syrup, taste still has a bit of tartness. but def. not how a fruited lambic has to be, just a shame they sweeten their brews.

Bra. Jämnat till sig något.
