Pours a nice cherry red with a half-inch slow diffusing bubbly head. Aroma of sour cherries, alfalfa, and some oak. Lively carbonation and tart flavors on the palate. Slightly astringent in the finish. Sour cherries, unripe persimmons. Excellent!

On tap. Deep clear ruby colour, similar to a red wine. The aroma has notes of sour cherries, cherry blossoms and tannins. The taste is oak, sour cherries finishing with a slightly sweet marzipan note. Doesn’t leave a lingering sourness, like some lambics.

Girly confection in the glass. Rose body with small, yet lasting soapy pink head. Lots of sour cherry dominates aroma. Yoghurt. There’s a artificial sweetness that makes the cherry-aroma resemble sweets as opposed to real fruit. That knocks it down.
Taste is VERY sweet, More fizzy cherry. Sourness is restrained, and the usual dry coating prevalent in lambics is also inhibited. It’s ok but the artificial sweetening undoes the good work.

Unsweetened, very very sour, more like a sour wine than a beer. Nice pink foam. Great cherry, good craftsmanship but oh so sour. My undeveloped taste buds prefer Timmermans.

Bottle @ Midsummer party 20140621. Nice deep red color, sparkling. Aroma of cherries, funk, bitter almonds and yoghurt. Taste is similar, quite sweet and not very offensive. I would have wanted more sourness and less sweetness. Still a descent kriek.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours beetroot red with a bright pink head. Heavy, creamy lacing. Obvious aroma of sour cherries, sweet plums, straw and a touch of sulphur. Flavours aren’t too sour; immediate cherries and candied berries, citrus peel and a very smooth sourness. Nice dry finish. Gets a lot sweeter as it warms, maybe a touch too sweet for me.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Amazing looking beer - right up there with the best I’ve seen. A bright and vivid pink head sits atop a clear ruby red body. Nose is mild funk, quite potent horse blanket and tarty cherries with an underlying woodiness. Taste is a lot sweeter than the nose gives off with a moderate sugar driven note throughout while sweet and tarty red cherries follow through to the finish. Almost raspberry like juiciness. The sourness builds for a little bit but is never too in-your-face. Juicy and quite sweet with light sourness. Well made beer

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
375mL bottle, pours a pinkish ruby red with a medium pink head. Aroma brings out lots of cherries and some slight funk. Flavour brings out a nice mix of tart cherries and dry funk – no residual cherries like the regular shitty Boon Kriek. This is a pure authentic one. On the funkiest side for a cherry lambic, which is how I like it. Wonderful stuff.

On tap at Birratrovo in Como
I was expecting something more sweet and sour. Surprised by this beer. Very cherry but not too sweet and absolutely not sour

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep ruby red, like a red burgundy wine but cloudy. The head is thick and pinkish red. The aroma is dominated by tart cherries, gingerbread, some brett and brie de meaux. The flavour is freshly acidic but not too tart. Just a hint of cherries and brett in the mouth. Refreshing and tasty, not as difficult to enjoy as many other lambics. Very nice, will try to cellar a few to see if they get more funky.
