Oude Kriek Boon is one of the finest examples of the 100% spontaneous fermentation fruit-Lambic style. 400 g of wild cherries per litre are fermented together with a blend of young and old Boon Lambic that has been aged in oak casks. After clarification, the Oude kriek is bottled and refermented. It is unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised and has no artificial flavourings, preservatives or colourings added. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Pour slowly in a flute glass without disturbing the yeast sediment in the bottle. Cheers !

Pours a nice cherry red with a half-inch slow diffusing bubbly head. Aroma of sour cherries, alfalfa, and some oak. Lively carbonation and tart flavors on the palate. Slightly astringent in the finish. Sour cherries, unripe persimmons. Excellent!

Pink reddish with a pink head. Aroma is black cherries, some barnyard, some sourness. Taste is upfront quite fruity, mixed with a perfect pitch of sourness and then a very complex hay-barnyard finish. Very nice and very elegant.

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2014 375ml green corked and caked bottle, poured into a flute glass. Appearance is clear ruby red with a medium sized China pink head. Aroma of cherries, green apples and barnyard. Flavour of cherries, table grapes, red currants and oak wood notes. Taste is light sweet, medium bitter and light-medium sour. Palate is medium-light bodied, smooth texture and average carbonation. A good Lambic Kriek, the flavours taste authentic, and the beer has a pleasant sourness and is refreshingly light on sweetness.
