COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Kriek Boon is one of the finest examples of the 100% spontaneous fermentation fruit-Lambic style. 400 g of wild cherries per litre are fermented together with a blend of young and old Boon Lambic that has been aged in oak casks. After clarification, the Oude kriek is bottled and refermented. It is unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised and has no artificial flavourings, preservatives or colourings added. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Pour slowly in a flute glass without disturbing the yeast sediment in the bottle. Cheers !

Dark red pour with a pink head. Nice rich cherry aroma with plenty of fruit and cherry skin notes. Some nice lactic tartness, a bit of grass, a mild musty funk, and some red fruits. A huge cherry character on the palate. Nice tartness, lemon zest, and musty funk. Great cherry skin, slight sweetness, with a dry finish.

2008 bottle from World Liquor Nakai in Misawa, Japan. Poured dark reddish purple. Virtually no head. Moderate cherry aroma. Flavor is cherrylicious. Sour mostly with slight sweetness. Shocked to find this in Japan. I certainly will buy again.

It’s an enchanting looking beer this one. While there is some haze, it is juicy magenta in colour with a pink head. Aromas of typical sour kriek with dry, sour Montmorency cherries abounding. The flavour is much the same. Crisp, tart and dry. A real palate cleanser.

Nice cherry smell. Very nice sour cherry taste! Maybe a bit young, could have been in celler for a while to Rise even more.

330 ml bottle. Clear dark red with pink head. Smell is fresh unripe fruit, stables, hay, funky grass. Taste is sour vinous with sweet unripe berries and cherries. Funky stables finish. Low bitterness and high carbonation.

375 ml bottle. Pours a very cloudy, pinkish red with a short lived white-pink head. Aroma is fruits, red candies, cherry, wildish. Flavor is cherry, warm, pulp, dust. Finish is tart, oldish, unripe fruits. Medium to full body, creamy, thick, velvety mouthfeel, weak to average carbonation.

On tap at Brewdog, Cardiff. Half pint, pours strong red colour like strawberry jam with a deep pinkish head. Aromas of red berries, sour yeast funk. Medium sweet and medium sour, raspberry aftertaste in a long sour finish. Very enjoyable.

Bottle, 37.5cL. @Tresor_Belge, Pouançay, France. Pre-dinner drink. With dad, mom and grandma_I. A dark opaque pink beer with a medium white-pinkish head. Medium retention. Aroma : first vinegar, wood, then cherry, and alcohol in the end. Sourness develops itself from light to medium. Doesn’t hide light fruity sweetness. Light to medium body, medium texture, good carbonation, sour>sweet finish. Overall, refreshing through the tasting, strangely at the end I felt light alcohol which gave power. Nice aroma and taste. I really enjoy when a beer lets fruity sweetness exists by its own.
