Nutty aroma. Anna gets liquorice, christ knows why. Sweet and nutty. Survived aging fairly well. Nicely dry and nutty.

Unusual dry taste with a medium head. Doesn’t resemble any other Batemans beers I have tried. If only all bottle conditioned beers where as nice as this.

Bottle Conditioned, bought from Booth’s, Clitheroe, 500ml. Reddish amber beer with chunky white head. Wow, I don’t usually rate British bottled beers that highly, but this is a bit special. Full impact bitter with a tangy citrusy hop note and a good resinous bitter finish. This is a real belter, so why don’t Batemans make more Bottle Conditioned beers for us to enjoy. Yummy.

Brewed for a supermarket chain. Lucky supermarket. This is a russet coloured beer that is big on biscuity malts. To finish there is a slightly ’oaky’ aftertaste. A good bottle conditioned beer.
