More often than not, most high alcoholic beers possess astringent spirity flavours, detracting from the other aspects of the beer. The reverse is true for the Raging Bull. At 7.1% alc./vol., the Bull begins with the intense malty flavours ranging from the crystal flavour and all its diversity to the coffee flavours of the roasted barley. A slight bitterness is apparent from the Pride of Ringwood hops but the main essence remains with the intense warming body structure. The Bull finishes with a resounding sweetness which, like chocolate, begs for another mouthful.

Bottled. A red beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of fruits, red berries, roasted malt, and caramel. The flavor is very sweet with notes of caramel, fruits, and red berries, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of bluebetty. Pours a clear dark orangey brown with a dense beige head. Subtle roasty nose. Rich body, subtle roast and dark dried fruits, yeast and friendly phenols - appears almost as if a Belgian yeast was used. Somewhat biscuity. A little odd and not entirely clear.. 190412

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2014 Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours very dark brown with almost no head - just a few lightly tanned bubbles. Nose is heavily roasted malts and dry biscuit. Bitter sweet tone there as well. As it warms a nice chocolate tone comes out. Bitter sweet chocolate and roasted malts make up the taste. A fair bit over carbonated which cuts off any finish this could have. Probably need to try another bottle at some point

Bottle, 12C. Dark reddish brown with a large beige head that fades but returns with a swirl. Aroma of toast, prunes, cocoa. Taste is really quite chocolatey, but not all that sweet. There’s modest roasted bitterness at the end as well as some grass. Alcohol is very well hidden - so much so that the texture seems a bit too light. Straightforward and a rather overcarbonated, but not bad at all.

Bottle 330ml. Interesting beer. Aromas of apple, vegemite, and toast. Taste is bitter, and long-lasting. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Dark brown, with a frothy white head.

From a 330ml bottle on 8/7/2010. Has masses of chocolate, a bit of coffee and some cherry in the aroma. In the mouth, it’s very sweet, with chocolate and caramel dominating. There is a moderate bitter finish which balances its distinctly dessert like character. This is a fabulous drop if, like me, you like big dollops of sweetness.
