UPDATED: OCT 4, 2005 Dark coca-cola brown with a creamy head that lasted. Definite spicy coffee aromas, and a little bready yeast. Delicious roasted malt palate with notes of chocolate, cedar, and caramel. The only Bootleg brew other than Settlers Pale Ale that I would bother buying again.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Papsoe (22987) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 19, 2012
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of bluebetty. Pours a clear dark orangey brown with a dense beige head. Subtle roasty nose. Rich body, subtle roast and dark dried fruits, yeast and friendly phenols - appears almost as if a Belgian yeast was used. Somewhat biscuity. A little odd and not entirely clear.. 190412
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 maneliquor (1188) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - DEC 13, 2011
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours very dark brown with almost no head - just a few lightly tanned bubbles. Nose is heavily roasted malts and dry biscuit. Bitter sweet tone there as well. As it warms a nice chocolate tone comes out. Unfortunately its all down hill from here. Bitter sweet chocolate and roasted malts make up the taste. Over carbonated which cuts off any finish this could have. Not my cup of tea
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hawthorne00 (1435) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - OCT 23, 2010
Bottle, 12C. Dark reddish brown with a large beige head that fades but returns with a swirl. Aroma of toast, prunes, cocoa. Taste is really quite chocolatey, but not all that sweet. There’s modest roasted bitterness at the end as well as some grass. Alcohol is very well hidden - so much so that the texture seems a bit too light. Straightforward and a rather overcarbonated, but not bad at all.
