Muddy, chocolate brown looking body with light tan head. Rich malt aroma with notes of pepper and hints of sweet dried fruit. Smooth, grainy taste, coffee, full body and you notice the shiraz casks on the finish. Only a slight warmth from the alcohol. Served a bit cold but once it warmed it drank a little too easily especially as I was driving and this was the first beer of the morning. Hopefully the brewer will do this special beer again next winter.
