COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Based on a traditional Australian amber ale the initial bitterness is quite distinctive however, not so overpowering that the other flavours are masked. The bitterness rounds off to reveal malty toasty flavours, offset and balances (due to the sweetness) the bite of Australian grown pride of ‘Ringwood’ hops. Being profoundly malty in aroma, copper in colour and lightly carbonated makes this a pleasant ale for social occasions.

Did not realize this was Tom’s amber ale. Sorry man, I would have saved this one for you if that were the case, but you really did not miss much... Anyway, The aroma is toasty with caramel and some bread. Light sweetness and some soft hop notes in the nose. Dark amber pour, thin head. Toast and caramel dominate the flavor. Light peppery crisp bitterness in the finish. Sweetness is light. Rather lively carbonation. Decent amber.

Bottle 330ml. Not great. Aroma has caramel and nuts, but it’s also high in esters. Taste is sweet, with average duration. Palate is oily, with a thin body. Amber, bubbly, with a non-persistent head.

Bottle. Amber with a beige head. Toffee aroma. Really sweet with caramel, honeyed nuts and brown sugar; struggling grassy bitterness. Not my sort of thing.

Tried on tap at Bootleg brewery. Golden body with short head. Some crystal malt with slightly more bitterness than what I think an amber ale should be even though you wouldn’t say it is very bitter. Easily drinkable but wouldn’t really pick it as an amber ale.
