Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy yellow-orange pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of phenolic white fruit and white pepper, slight biscuit, bread, hints of spice, toffee in there as well. Taste is a mix of white pepper, slight pear, white grape going into toffee, caramel, and yeasty notes with some slight bready notes, finishing fairly sweet.

In bottle at Craig’s. Pours an amber colour with a thin beige head. Aroma of pine, toffee, treacle, caramel and alcohol. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel.

Bottle at Craig’s. Deep reddish copper, thin cream head. Fruity marzipan, sweet berry jammy fruit nose. Big juicy sweet peachy malts, touch of berry fruit. Quote fizzy but lots of fruit. Touch of Belgian yeast character too, with a light peppery bitterness on the finish and just a hint of booze. Ok.

Dang that was the loudest "pop" I’ve ever heard from opening a beer! Sounded like a gun shot. Aroma starts off like a nice fig/raisin belgium dubbel but then turns a little tart. Lighter brown than other dubbels and clearer too. Taste is a bit rough, its overly carbed so that sizzles the tongue and buries the flavor. The body/palate is very thin. Rather disappointing as I really enjoy most of the Bootleggers offerings.

This was the Fort Knox of caged and corked beers. Once opened, it poured mostly foam before settling down. A distinctive candi sugar smell greets the nose and a bit of medicinal notes as well. Good amount of strong spice notes too.

On tap. Deep orange with a nice off White, cream head. Aroma is malty sweet, with classic Belgian yeast notes. Medium mouthfeel, with a sweet breadiness that is complimented by the Belgian quality, without either overpowering each other. Very easy to drink as well.

On tap at Bootleggers it has a dark amber color in the glass with a medium head. The aroma has raisins and roasted malts. Flavor is very rich with roasted fruits and almost a resin like quality. It has a smooth finish and a small alcohol bite in the end.

Glass at Bootleggers. Pours a semi-dark but clear brown with slight whitish head. Aroma is caramel malt and slightly off funk. Taste is cardboard and slight fruit and cheese. Tastes just way off but this seems to be the rule rather than the exception with a lot of their experimental beers. Would not get this one again.
