2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a deep black color with coffee and spice aroma. Taste is spicy because the chipotle pepper comes through. After the swallow, a mild coffe taste that seems to be overpowered by the spicyness. A different type of beer that was overall okay.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at CGarvie tasting. Bit of a gusher! It pours very dark brown with a quickly dissipating head. The nose is roasted malt, mellow caramel, vanilla, toasted coconut, chocolate, mild coffee, wood and bourbon. The taste is roasted malt, spice, earth, caramel, touch chilli pepper, cracked black pepper, light bitterness, bourbon, vanilla and warming alcohol. Medium-full body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Mellow and fairly well-balanced.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
This lightly carbonated deep black color beer has a strong coffee aroma. The coffee is well balanced but the chipotle which adds a very interesting layer to this beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ home via trade with OCBeerSociety. Thanks! Pours a black appearance with a thin brown head. Moderately spicy chili pepper, light veggie, toasty malty, coffee, chocolate aroma with a fair amount of spiciness that tickles the nose. A bit chewy malty, cocoa, roasty malty, slightly spicy, pepper, bitter coffee flavor with some spiciness on the finish. Kind of fun but I’m not positive that I enjoy the coffee element.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a big, pillowy head that fades slowly. Aroma is pretty faint, mostly fresh roasted coffee with a hint of peppers. Taste is decent. Coffee dominates the taste with a slight bitterness. Finish brings in a slight chipotle pepper taste without the heat. Overall, a decent stout but I was hoping for more.
