Appearance: Dense copper with no head. Aroma: Big sweet booze nose. Taste: Sour green apple and sweet likka. Mouthfeel: Highly carbonated with a sticky thick body. Overall: A pretty interesting beer. This turned into an old ale-ish barleywine.

I had this on tap at Bootlegger’s Second Anniversary party. There was an aroma and flavor of this beer that just didn’t agree with me. It was almost medicinal. Oh well

A: The pour is a lightly hazed dark amber color with a thin white head. S: This is a lot more balanced than the bourbon version. While the brandy is noticeable, the barrel character is a lot more subtle and provides some vanilla and oak while still allowing some of the fruit to come through. T: Like the bourbon aged one, the base of Golden Chaos comes through very nicely, while still exhibiting some good vanilla and oak. There’s some excellent pear flavor along with a very slightly tart apple flavor which is surprising but very nice. M: The body is medium to full with a moderate carbonation and a crisp, dry finish. D: I was really pleasantly surprised by this beer. I found the fruit and lightly tart flavors to be a very nice compliment to the brandy and barrel contributions.

On tap at the tasting room. Poured a dirty brown color. Smell was amazing, much nicer than the bourbon. Some brandy up front with a lot of apple smells coming through along with other fruits. Taste was balanced with a slight brandy boozey feel coming through. I want growlers of this stuff!

Brandy Chaos. On tap at the brewery. Wow, Jesper, no, this is pretty decent! Pours with an off-white head and a burnt orange body, Aroma of cherry, oak, alcohol, vanilla and toffee. Taste is alcohol, toffee, strong brandy notes, straight butterscotch (not the off-flavor kind, the dessert kind), grape skins, Light bubbles. Tannic.

64 fl oz growler, courtesy of vacax. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is dry malty and distinct brandy. Sweet, malty and solid brandy flavoured. Not much else but brandy imho. Alcolhol dense. Dry and phenolic finish. Way too hot for my liking.
