A: The beer pours a dark amber, as advertised, with a finger or so of off-white head. S: Intensely fruity to begin with. Lots of pineapple and grapefruit on the front end. The malts start to come through after the fact with caramel and toffee leading the way. A slight toasted character exists, also. T: Pineapple and grapefruit start things off on the tongue, too. A solid maltiness of caramel, toffee, and bread, but there does seem to be just a little bit of alcohol. M: The body and carbonation are both what I would call medium. D: I would have preferred a more hop forward approach here, but this wasn’t bad at all.

I listed this as an Amber Ale rather than an American Strong (like Winter Yulesmith) because I was told by the folks at Bootlegger’s that the ABV was "between 6 & 7", a bit low for a strong ale, IMO At any rate, it’s a nice combo of malts and hops. definitely not an IPA
