COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Knuckle Sandwich DIPA is an American Style Double IPA. This is a beer that truly lives up to its name! Brewed with copious amounts of North American hops, this Double IPA has a colossal hop profile and an aggressive aroma. Helping round out the floral and citrus notes is a huge malt backbone that provides a great mouth feel to this heavyweight hitter.

One of my favorite DIPAs. Overload of citra hops and citrus all over this thing.

Got o few months back at the tap room downtown Fullerton. Not a typical imperial IPA at all. It poured a little darker than the light orange IPAs. Had a great balanced caramel and pine hop aroma. Flavor of more malty than usual xxipas. Definitely had strong pine like northwestern hops. Different for sure and in a good way. Very impressed.

Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours clear, rich gold with a creamy, off-white head. Lots of fairly dank hops in the aroma, some melon, grapefruit. Medium sweet falvour with loads more dank hop character, big on the melon, oily pine, grapefruit, some sweet pale bread. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderately sweet and resinous on the finish, with mellow pine spice, sticky melon and papaya, more grapefruit. Very tasty. Quite rich, but still highly drinkable.

Hazy deep amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Decent carbonation. Creamy malts. light but sweetish. Good hops - crisp orange and smooth pine. A little resin. Smooth spicy sweet finish. Sound and drinkable.

650 ml bottle. Pours a dark copper amber colour with a small foamy head. Aroma of heavy piney hops, citrus, sweetness and biscuit. Heavy flavour of huge piney bitterness, caramel sweetness, menthol, grapefruit and deep jammy fruitiness. Full bodied. Extreme. Despite being heavy the drinkability remains good.

650ml bottle

Bottled 08/28/15 - Pours copper orange with a smooth white head. Aroma of caramely malts, toffee, loads of grass, pine, resin and herbal notes. Taste is malty, sweet, heavy and caramely with loads of toffee, grassy hops, herbal notes, pine and resin. Finish is sweetish, slightly stuffy, malty and hoppy with massive amounts of pine, resin and herbal grassy notes. Quite malty and sweet, old school west coast DIPA.

I’ll start off saying this isn’t super fresh, so take this with a grain of salt. Nose of sweet, slightly burnt caramel malts, some citrus, pine, and danker hops. Taste follows, with bitter, slightly soapy hop finish. More barley wine at this point than DIPA. Booze is well hidden.

My Bottom Line:
Burnt honey and bitter resins fight it out alongside citrus fruit in this rich and sweetish Double IPA.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the misty pale amber.
-This is not an easy drinker, even for the style. At least, the name makes you expect what you get.
-The wealthy mouthfeel is comfortable.
-This feels like an old-style DIPA; more sugary and with a coarser bitterness.

Bottle.

On tap at the source. Pours a reddish golden. No head. Aroma is pine. Some bubblegum. Alcohol is evident. Smooth clean. Nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep orange clear pour with carbonation coming up through out from bottom of glass. Oily hop and citrus aroma and flavor. Bitter finish.

650ml to cervoise glass. Pours deep orange-red. Plentiful head which dwindles down to a lasting ring of light tan head quickly. Malty with notes of caramel and pale malts. Hops are spicy, floral and lemon/orange zest. Some good peach and mango as well on the finish. You can tell immediately that it is 10.0 abv. Strong beer...good beer...highly drinkable...but look out...it kicks.
