On tap at the taproom. A clear, golden beer with a small white head. Light peachy aroma with a piney and malty touch. The flavor much the same, with some bitterness added. Medium body, quite dry. Bitter, piney finish. A rather boring one. 130812

Draft at the brewery taproom - Fullerton. Pours clear, bright gold with a lasting, white cream head. The nose holds light pine needles, hay, melon and lemon rind. Light-medium sweet flavor with moderate bitterness, some mango, apricot, pine needles. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Balanced finish with some sweet, lightly dried pale malts, more tropical fruits and pine. Good one.

A: The pour is a bright amber color with a finger or two of white head and some mild lacing. S: Definitely hearty and bready, much more so than a 5.5% would usually seem. Some citrus and floral hop aromas, mostly orange and lemon peel, and some pine is present as well. T: Again, the bread is center stage here. There are plenty of floral hops which really seem to characterize the beer. Still, a good citrus bite is there and gives some oranges and maybe grapefruit. Bitter and piney on the finish. M: The body is medium with a moderate level of carbonation and a crisp, dry finish. D: Not the best of the Bootlegger’s offerings, but a solid pale ale that you could drink with ease.

Bomber from Hi-Time. Pours gold with a creamy/foamy white head. Aroma is citrus, a hint of floral perfume, and roasty malt. Med body. Flavor is citrus/floral followed by excessively roasty malt. Finish is just a bit too malty for my preference. But the hop certainly helps.
