Draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy chocolate brown color with golden apricot edges and a half finger off white head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Minimal spots of lace left behind. Bland aroma with an earthy, soily character along with some faint malt.  Hard to detect much else.  Subtle hints of nut, caramel and chocolate.   Medium bodied with tight carbonation and a lot of spicy hops.  Earthy with dry pine needle flavor and faint maltiness. Very earthy, dry and one dimensional. Not very complex with a really weak malt presence and too much carbonation. Overall this beer was really bad. I’m not sure if the keg had gone back or what went wrong but my experience with this beer was completely opposite of the other reviews so far.

Pours a deep brown color with aroma of nuts roasted over a fire. Taste is of smooth caramel goodness with a distinct aftertaste highlighting the caramel. A mild flavor beer that I enjoyed more than one. This is the best beer I’ve had from this brewery.

On tap at the Brewery as Prohibition Mild. Pours with an amber body and a small tan head. Aroma of grain, chocolate and raisins. Taste is grainy, biscuit, light fruit, some apple. A good mild! Lively bubbles.

A: The pour is a dark amber color with an initially thick off-white head. This dies down to a thin layer on top and some mild lacing. S: An incredibly toasty aroma with a bit of molasses, toffee, and even some coffee. On top of all those sugary descriptors, there’s a really bready character to the beer. T: The toasty, biscuity, bready notes dominate the flavor and make for a really hearty beer despite the low ABV. A slight English hop bitterness and some mild toffee and coffee flavors. M: A medium body with an incredibly smooth and creamy feel on the tongue. D: I sometimes find myself falling into the trap of the big beers, so coming across a really nice low ABV beer like this is always nice. This is one you could drink all day, and that’s sort of the point.

I had this on tap at Bootlegger’s Second Anniversary party. For me, it was the star of the show. Clear brown pour with a nice dry, roasty flavor, it shows a tasty beer doesn’t have to be high in alcohol. I hope they bottle this one.
