COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our latest addition to our year-round lineup. For you hop heads out there, you have to try this! This American style IPA made with rye grain tops the charts at over 85 IBU (that’s a lot of bitter!). It’s starts with floral hop notes a big malty body hinting at the underlying rye grain and finishes with a nice clean bitterness.

Drank with deadCATAtlanta while installing my garage beer fridge. I am a touch annoyed that we didn’t get this fresh, as it was still a solid beer past its prime. Scent is cereal and a touch of booze. Rye bitterness lasted, but the hops had faded. Nice amount of sweet. Pour darkish amber with decent head. Light-Medium crisp body. Served on tap at the brewery, poured a beautiful orange/rust color with a nice creamy one finger head. Got a strong floral smell with a nice grapefruit aroma lofting around. Drink was smooth and full of flavor, great finish along the back of the tongue.

Wittales (648) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - AUG 22, 2013
Appearance was clear copper gold with lasting creamy off white 2 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are sweet pale, crystal malt base, then hops of citrus and tropical with spicey rye. Taste are slightly sweet malt upfront gaves way to spicey rye, but subtle. Hops of lemon, grapefruit, and orange, melon with hints of alcohol. Palate are creamy smooth CO2 with medium body, lasting spicey rye hoppy finish. I likey, try if you like the Rye.

On tap at the taproom. It pours a more or less clear pale amber body and a small white head. Lightly spiced, citrusy aroma with some malty notes. Decent bitterness in the mouth. Some malty sweetness, tropical fruits and a hint of rye. Full body, nice carbonation. Lasting finish. A quite nice one. 130812

Bottle:   Deep orange, almost burnt, moderate to large foamy tannish head, spotty lacing.   Pale rye on the nose, slight hop, some dried grasses as well.   A bit more pronounced on the tongue, rye, citrus zest, and hops.   Moderate sweetness, balances well.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Soft pale grainy finish, rye, a little citrusy, along with dried grasses.   Not a show stopper, but not bad either.   Gets more sweet and citrusy as it warms.

Pours light amber with a white head. Aroma is of pine and grains (sort of bread-y). Flavor is good: pine, citrus, hops, malt, bread, and coffee. However, didn’t get so much rye. Good overall, worth a try!
