Our latest addition to our year-round lineup. For you hop heads out there, you have to try this! This American style IPA made with rye grain tops the charts at over 85 IBU (thatís a lot of bitter!). Itís starts with floral hop notes a big malty body hinting at the underlying rye grain and finishes with a nice clean bitterness.

Iíll tell you what. This beer may not be a big bad ass beer but thatís what makes it great. Think Anchor Steam only more hopped up and just as drinkable. For me super delicious. I gotta get more. Killer aromatics. Aroma is nutty, grainy, cracked sunflower seeds, rye, malty, bitter hops. The quality a flavor is on par with excellent German crafted ales. If you are a pretentious beer snob then donít bother but if you like delicious beer at a cheap price. Get some. Tasty tasty tasty! I am floored by how drinkable it is. Everything about it is awesome!

Served on tap at the brewery, poured a beautiful orange/rust color with a nice creamy one finger head. Got a strong floral smell with a nice grapefruit aroma lofting around. Drink was smooth and full of flavor, great finish along the back of the tongue.

Copper with a fizzy white head. Big sweet candy and burnt caramel aroma. Butterscotch dominated the flavor with a creamy palate and buttery finish. Very well done.

Sampled on 7/23/2010. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Large sized white foamy head, with excellent retention and long lasting lacing. The aroma is fruity and sweet, floral and spicy. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity, caramel and sweet. The hops are floral and earthy. Nice rye spiciness. A touch of orange and orange peel. A very nice IPA. Somewhat different tasting, it is most definitely an IPA, yet it is NOT a hop bomb. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and spicy.

A - Pours a clear golden-orange with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades fairly slowly leaving behind some nice lacing. S - Aroma is a mix of sweet caramel malts and rye with some grapefruit and citrus hops and a touch of pine hop. T - Starts off with a mix of sweet caramel malts with some grapefruit, orange, and citrus hops with some bitterness. Through the middle, some light pine hop comes through with a bit more bitterness and some rye spiciness. The finish is a mix of sweet caramel and biscuit malts, rye spiciness, and some citrus and light pine hops. M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry, bitter, and lightly spicy finish. D - Very drinkable. Nice Rye IPA with a good balance of hops and some nice rye spiciness.

Brilliantly clear orange hue, modest white head. Nose is rye and bitter grassy hops, light fruits, grainy malts. Flavor is rye and grainy malts, balanced by high hop bitterness and grassy resin flavors, finishes dry and bitter. Overall a great example of a balanced rye IPA with a solid malt presence!

On tap at Newport Beach Brewing Winterfest, this orange beer has a nice blending of rye spiciness and IPA hoppiness. I liked it.
