On tap at the brewery. Pours with a clear brown hued body with a minimal off-white head that fades very quickly. Aromas are of leather, smoke, bacon, brown sugar, earthy and light esters. Flavors are of smoke, minor vegital notes, brown sugar, bacon and leather. Medium bubbles and on the dryer side of things.

I had this on tap at Out of the Park Pizza. It’s a nicely balanced beer, with good smoke flavor without being over the top. Very tasty.

The pour is sort of a hazy amber color with an off-white head. Initially the smoke is light and it mostly smells of bananas. There is a nice sweetness of malt to it, mostly toffee and bread. Maybe a bit of vanilla in there. The flavor has a stronger smoke character to it. It’s got a bit of salt and almond flavor as well as a nice toastiness and some sweet toffee malt.

9 dec 2011, tap at the brewery. Light nut brown, clear, occasional bubbles. Smells like a smoked ale; smoked sausage and heavier on sausage than smoke. Med body and moderately fizzy. Tastes like a lightly smoked sausage. Pretty decent for the style.
