Appearance: Pours a bright amber orange with a decent but slowly shrinking white head. Leaves webby lacing. Aroma: Big citrusy lime, lemon and pine. Taste: Sturdy citrus blast, farily dry malt, and it finishes very earthy. Mouthfeel: Astringent, highly carbonated. Overall: I’m a sucker for these types of beers. This was a pilot batch, and I really enjoyed it, so I hope it sticks around.

Growled thanks to largadeer. Slightly hazy copper color with a foamy white head and good thick lacing. Very nice herbal hop aroma with a little citrus, with slight sweet malt in the background. The flavor has sweet pale and caramel malt - average maltiness for a west coast IPA - as well as a big hop profile of herbal notes, tangerine, grapefruit, and pine. Finishes dry and bitter with medium body and a good slickness to it. A solid IPA from a brewery that seems to be improving quite a bit.

A: The pour is a light golden-orange color with a big white head and some light lacing. S: A really great hop aroma with lots of orange and grapefruit rind. Grapefruit and lemon fruitiness and a bit of resinous pine. No malt whatsoever to speak of. T: Quite bitter and super dry, just like a good IPA should be. Grapefruit flesh and peel as well as lemon, oranges, and tangerines. Straight forward and delicious. M: The body is medium with a moderate to high carbonation with a very dry and bitter finish. D: Super easy to drink and pretty much what I look for in an IPA. I’d have no problem having this again and again.

On tap (listed as Brewer Rod’s West Coast IPA (a Citra-centric 7% IPA). Pours with a slightly hazed golden body and a large white head. Aroma is dank, herbal, mango and tropical fruits. A light sweetness I normally associate with Amarillo. Taste is dry, light grain, citrusy, dank and herbal, with a lingering citrus bitterness. Some tropical fruit in the finish. Dry with medium carbonation. Really well done!

I had this on tap at Bootlegger’s Second Anniversary party. This was a nice, straight-forward IPA: citric/piney hops, with some nice balance
